no AOR yet, hopefully this week or the next, we are working with a lawyer so hopefully we will be notified once it has been received

medicals completed 9/2010
file transferred 1/18/2011

Hi, I am a latecomer, but can you please still add me?

I applied outland via Buffalo, spousal route, for Quebec. Here is my timeline so far:

Dec 31, 2010: application received in Mississauga
Jan 26, 2011: sponsor (my husband) approval
March 9, 2011: CSQ approval

I can logon to e-Cas with my client ID now, but all I see is my name, and no other information. So I think that means I am still waiting on AOR from Buffalo.

I was wondering if there is a link to a spreadsheet specifically for Buffalo applicants?

let me know if I can provide any other info. :)

And a Buffalo outland thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-outland-buffalo-applicants-t41886.0.html

Hi eletyl. :) Welcome to the thread. I'll be happy to add you to the spreadsheet.

Anyone have any eCAS updates today? My eCAS update tracker popped up this morning, but there was nothing new. Second time that has happened. :P

That happened to me a few days ago. I was so excited when I saw the email that I actually woke up my fiance....I just had to tell someone! I couldn't contain my happiness; I was literally jumping on the bed. Then we logged in, and bam... nothing new. He went back to bed, and I went back to staring at the spreadsheet. :(

Long story short, the tracker likes to play with our emotions... evil evil thing.

Nope, nothing new yet.

Just got my shiney new Initial Assessment. :) Couldn't be a happier immigrant girl if I tried. No interview at this time, no additional documents, no additional fees, medical has been received. Letter dated March 22, 2011.

YAY!!!

I'm going to go buy me a lemonade Rockstar to celebrate. 8)

Congrats on your IA, quakingaspen!

yay!! congrats quakingaspen! thats great news! :) so im assuming that you got the IA through the mail then??

congrats go and celebrate

hehe Thanks guys! :) Yep! It came through the mail in a big brown/orange envelope. I was a little worried because it seemed thicker than I expected... but they sent my original marriage certificate back as well. The letter was dated March 22, so it took a week for it to get to me here in Canada. It was sent 2 weeks after I got my AOR, and when my eCAS says they started processing my application.

I was poking around the Buffalo consulate website, and saw this at the top of the contact page:

"IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are installing a new computer system. As a result, applications submitted in March 2011 may take longer than usual to process. Our average processing times have been adjusted accordingly. Thank you for your understanding."

I'm wondering, since the last group of AORs appeared to go out on March 7, if the rest of us December folks have maybe gotten caught up in this? I'm hoping this is the case... it would ease my mind a teeny bit... But I will feel a hell of a lot better once I KNOW that my file is really truly IN Buffalo!

If anyone else is patient or persistent enough to contact them, I would be interested to know what they find out. From what I see, they do not take phone calls about immigration files, nor are they likely to respond to an email inquiry...

Oh well... still hoping we all get our AORs this week. Fingers crossed, eh?

EDIT... Apparently I'm "not allowed to post links." Awesome. >:(

hehe You just need to post more on the forums, and then you will get approval to post links. I don't think it takes too many posts, and people would love to hear from you!

Yes, I think the updating system is the cause of our missing AOR's. If you look around the other threads, eCAS has already updated for people in the February/Janaury threads to say "Application Received". Our AOR's have been an actual communication with the Buffalo Visa office... I think this new "AOR" is just a scan when it gets to the office. It's great for the new applicants, to know where their application actually is. For our December group, AOR's have generally been sent as boxes have been opened and applications are moved to "In Process".

So far, our delay has been about 2 months from the time applications are sent to Buffalo to the AOR. Right now, it's taking longer than that to receive notification... and I don't know what that's all about. I assume it has something to do with their move to the new system.

It's frustrating, and depressing to have no news. But you guys are in good company, and not alone. I think your files are fine... the problem is with Buffalo, not with you.

My fingers are crossed for all of you that they'll break through and get your AOR's sent. You have waited too long for news!

Honestly, I try to avoid the forums altogether (and still failing at that!)... I get plenty wound up on my own, and seeing people after me making progress just makes me even more anxious. Silly, maybe, but this is the biggest thing we have ever undertaken. I think a little impatience/anxiety is allowed :P

I dunno if it sounds bad, but I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck without any info. At least I'm not alone.

I'm also trying hard not to think about all the little things I could have done differently. It's so hard not to dwell on it all!

Argh. I need some cheering up... Where did I put those Creme Eggs? ;D

hehe I was just looking up brownie recipies. I'd be happy to share. ;)
