Thread for December 2010 Applicants

Ok i am getting ready for the 20 months long processing (as mentioned for singapore VO) for my wife to be here. So that will be October 2012. May be singapore VO office will change the 20 months to 30 months soon. So i am not expecting my wife to be here anytime before January 2013. So it would be 2 years since i applied to mississauga office. Well done Canada and kudos to your priority for family reunification. May be i will quit Canada and go back to my country.

sigh! so I sent an email to buffalo to get an update and got this response:

"Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

so on the one side this is the second time they've told me its in process so hopefully they are actually working on my file *fingers crossed*

on the other side it would be nice to know where in the process they are. oh wells I'll try to be patient for a bit longer and hopefully I'll hear something soon. If not I'll make an appointment with my MP and maybe they will be able to get some answers.

Thinking I should fax in my receipt showing The Right of perminant residance fee has been payed now rather then wait until they ask...I will do that this week

We heard back from our mp today, they had got an email from the ministers office in Ottawa, they checked our file and apologised for the delay in our application, they confirmed Mississauga had informed London we paid the rprf back in April. Let's see what happens next...

We heard back from our mp today, they had got an email from the ministers office in Ottawa, they checked our file and apologised for the delay in our application, they confirmed Mississauga had informed London we paid the rprf back in April. Let's see what happens next...

I received my passport from Sydney, with all my original photos/cards etc, last week.

Sending positive vibes to those still waiting for PPR. Thinking of you.

Today is one of those days when I feel frustrated at this process. Its been over a month since Buffalo confirmed that the RPRF was paid and over six weeks since they requested the payment and still no PPR.

We are trying to plan a trip to the Caribbean but don't want to book flights and pay for tickets and then have to cancel the flight because of passport issues 1 they may request the passport while we are away or 2 they may request the passport during the time that we have booked for our vacation

Anyway I sent an email asking them when can we expect the request for PPR hopefully they will respond.

Hang in there, you're supposed to be our level headed December person...if we lose you we're all losing it

As a reference point...they requested RPRF from my wife and I back in May and confirmed it in June (we had actually paid back in September) and we're still waiting as well.

I'm kind of hoping they go "Oh, look at this pile of paper here...what is it? Oh damn! December applications!" and clear it all out for us in quick succession

I agree with you and I said that at the beginning of the week. Every day I wake up expecting something but today just got a little bit frustrated, so much to do and the uncertainty of when put things in a holding pattern.

My wife is currently looking at beginning her Doctorate with a concentration on Technology in Mathematics she is a technology professional but also tutors Mathematics her students are both inner-city kids in Fort Lauderdale and upper middle class in Boca Raton Florida and to hear the stories she tells it would amaze you of how kids react to Mathematics both groups react in different ways and so she is developing strategies for the teaching of Mathematics utilizing technology she is looking at Harvard, U of Toronto, U of Michigan, North Western and Vanderbilt for the 2012 year and we are scheduling visits for the fall but a lot of this depends on what happens with immigration in the next few weeks

Thanks Jeff I am not going to loose it I understand that there is process and each IO and VO is different just have a lot going on with decisions to make

I am totally with you guys. And yes, we all are each others' strength !

I was really hoping to get my husband's PPR before our first anniversary, but it doesn't look like it. However we are one step closer to living together as I was trying to find a job in the Canadian city near the border where he works, so that he can keep his job in US and we could stay together in Canada. I finally found a good job there!! I am going to be moving there in 2 weeks (unfortunately alone) and can start setting up our apartment so that as soon as he gets the PPR he can come live with me. It will be strange to just be across the border from each other and wait to be united

I loved Jeff's comment about them noticing a big pile of paperwork that would be our files!!! Hehe...fingers crossed !

Congrats sparkle that would be wonderful I dont have such a problem because my spouse and I are together I am able to live in both places with her in the States or in Canada where I maitain my residence you can say I have the best of both worlds and will probably continue to have that when she is finish because I will still have the business in the States but will probably open an office in Canada when we move back permanently

Well i sent all my stuff to Missisauga in October and the application was reicieved by singapore dec. 8th 2010. I will have to re-do my medical as it with expire next month. I'm still waiting for some good news!
