Yipee...sponsorship approval so now my application is winging its way to Sydney. I know the CIC site states 7 months for processing of applications but has anybody had theirs done earlier? Not that I'm impatient or anything ;D

I've been a permanent resident since January (phew :)) and I Outland (from in Canada) through Quebec AND had to provide extra documents and my whole application still took under 6 months. Sydney is a great office to go through (although we DID have our mishaps). It's a long time day by day, but really fast in terms of immigrating. Goodluck!

Congracts Tracy!!

Thanks midnightmav for the info and jasvarun for the congrats...I'm so pleased we've got a start on this process. I've started to look at the B4 forms just to get an idea of what we're in for (should my application be successful). Phew...after filling out the application, I think completing the B4 forms are the next tough steps.

Thanks! Soooo excited. Bittersweet news - it's hard to make it seem like good news to the rest of the family here who were getting used to having us around. Terribly hard for my mum... I was feeling her pain, when I told her the news. But she understands that it's just moving to another country, not the moon and it's important to live authentically for what we truly want and believe in.

Other than the passport, the only other thing was they requested was that I fill out a very simple form (which they sent with the letter) to say passport holders name/passport number/expiry date/height/eye colour and then a tick in the box to say how I'd like the passport to be returned. By default they will do registered mail via Australia Post. I went to the post office today to compare options and just did the general registered post - no different to 'platinum' except it will take 3 days to arrive each way vs overnight. I figured I don't need it desperately, I've got til June til we fly out so there's time. On the letter they said it will take 5-10 days to process at the consulate.

I haven't checked e-Cas today but since last week there was no change (still said in process).

Good luck Gally! Won't be long for you now either.

Heys congrats for visa!! i can feel the excitement.....just waiting for sydney to start our processing.. :(

Any other updates anyone else??? :D

Hi guys. I hope all of you are doing fine.

Can somebody please help me with my query. I sent an email to my visa officer and got an automated response that he is on leave for next 13 days. Does this mean that the processing will start when he'll be back? Or should I assume that he may have given the case to somebody else?

Has anybody else experienced this?

Kind Regards

By the way how did you sent your query directly to your Visa officer? And its a bit unusual to get response of a leave for a specific VO... So far I know the case specific query (provided the facility provided by CIC web) deals by the front desk and often replies by them (or in some case its forwarded to case officer/VO)... Therefore, its not very likely to get out of office reply from VO... Could you pl mention which e.mail address you tried for... I am a FSW1 applicant under Sydney CHC and sent case specific inquiry a month ago but didn't get any reply even not the automated one!!!

I'll send you couple of VO's email addresses in pvt msg. My case officer wanted to clarify something on my form so he sent me email using his personal email address. I replied back but he never responded. After couple of weeks I sent him another email and got that automated reply.

Hey mate,

I personally think someone else is taking care of your application while your actual VO is on leave. Good luck mate.... Keep us updated..

Regards,
Jas

Hi guys

Sorry for the late reply. Jasvarun that was my question as well that why they were taking so long. I think every process takes at least a month. For that 1 month the file just sits in the Q and after approximately that time, the visa officer looks at the file again.

Atleast that happened in my case.

Anyways, the good news is that I got PPR. Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Although letter dated March 30, 2011. I think thats a type as the envelope has 29th April on it and also the query I received from VO was on April 11th.

Anyways, Gally I hope you'll be getting that PPR request soon.

Thanks for your support guys.

CONGRATS narcotics! :)

Did you receive your letter via post or email?
Has your e-cas changed from in process to decision made?

Im hoping i get mine this week too!
Although, if its posted it could be 7-10 days before I receive it :(
