Hi All,

We're almost ready to submit our application. My wife is sponsoring myself and our three children.

When we do apply, is it directly to the Sydney office or do they redirect it there from Canada? We are applying from Perth. I'm quite relieved with the speed at which it seems some of the applications in this thread seem to have been processed.

Time will tell if ours is thorough and complete enough to get processed without too many issues.

Thanks,
Chris

Send everything to Missisauga. They will then do a sponsor assessment there and then forward it to the SYD office.

Hi All,

Anyone that has got their passport request and passport stamped in Sydney Visa Office recently? How long did the stamping process take from the time that you submitted your passport to them?

Thanks!

Hi Priya,

I was going to ask the same. I was requested my passport and it reached them yesterday. Anyone here has any idea how fast they process things and return your passport.

Hi AARCEE,

Dont know how active people on this thread are...but my passport reached there day before yours so I guess we should just post here when either of us receives it back to keep each other updated. Do you have the tracking number and does it show that it is being processed at the Sydney Office right now? That's what ours shows right now. When we sent it, it showed that it was mailed on so n so date to Sydney Office.

Hi AARCEE,

Our tracking showed today that passport has been dispatched. It took exactly a week to get stamped. We still have not received it back in the mail yet.

Send direct to Mississauga. Once sponsorship is approved it will be sent likely to Syd Aus. However mine was sent to Ottawa and I applied from Australia So I would guess it will be one or the other. Hope that helps.

Hello all,

Firstly, THANK YOU! This forum has been amazing for getting through the PR process.
My time line is as below, through the Sydney, Australia office.
Some basic info: NZ Citizen, Canadian partner sponsoring through common law. No "red flags" that I know of. Medical done upfront. No interview or document request etc.

Applied: August 5th
SA: September 2nd
AoR2: September 13th
DM on ECAS: December 7th
Confirmation/final stages of processing email: December 19th.

Currently just awaiting my CoPR from Sydney ;D

I wish you all fast processing!

Hello ppl

I asked this at another thread too... sorry if you are reading it again :)

What sort of questions can we expect at immigration for a spouse visiting to Canada on TRV?
The intention is obviously to stay together and later apply for a sponsorship (outland). Is it ok to mention that my spouse is a PR and I am here to visit him but will go back after couple months to NZ (which is actually true). What should be the best tactic to handle questions that judge the intent of visit. How do we need to be prepared (1 is a return ticket back to NZ - will a dummy ticket work?). What else?

Australian getting everything ready to apply with a Canadian, been living together for two years continually in Canada and 2 3/4 years total, married just over 2 years, i have been working here for 2 years and have until nov 28th 2018 left on my working visa, I believe our situation would be straight forward, we both live together in Ottawa and I'm wondering (1) how long they take your passport (2) what are the chances of getting an interview as I want to apply Outland and want to know if I have to fork out 2k to fly to Sydney for an interview and also if I'm classified as a legal resident to do it here on Laurier, which is 20 minute drive with traffic.

Money isn't an issue, I just want to visit Family in Aus and don't know when to fly, if I do it in two months and risk them asking for my passport, or wait 12 months until application is done.
