Quick question, We applied thru outland here in Sydney Australia VO. Already had our sponsorship approval. Did you ever call the Sydney Visa office regarding
your application and where they very helpful in any way. Or if someone is reading this.....has anyone (Sydney applicants) call the Visa office for information and was able to get help.

Just received the letter from CIC, sponsorship approved YAY!! File transferred to Sydney office July 9th.
Not sure who manages the spreadsheet hi if you could please update my info that would be awesome. One more step to go

You won't receive the AOR until they actually start processing the application, right now they're working on applications that got there on 16 May.

Once they start looking at your application, I think as long as it's fairly straightforward it seems to be a pretty quick turnaround of a couple of days for approval after that. Have you looked at the Sydney spreadsheet for an idea of how long each step takes?

Has anyone contacted the Visa Office in Sydney thru phone? Do they answer questions regarding applications(status and all). Thanks everyone

never called but you can email them.. they reply in a few days.. however they will not reply about status of your application if it is within normal processing times.

i managed to call them but the person answering the phone only had access to incoming mail. sounded like he could access the system but wasn't supposed to.

i've emailed them a few times and each time it's been less than 36 hours turnaround - they are good in replying but be clear and concise with your ask.

My sponsor was approved awhile ago and it has been almost 3 months and I have not received an AOR from Sydney VO. I was wondering if some applicants have the same experience. Thanks everyone.

The 2013 data for applications is available on the cic website now. It's not so helpful for current applicants, because I think pretty much everyone who applied in 2013 has probably landed by now, but I was interested in what was in the spreadsheet. Sydney2014 What is your timeline?

My husband recieved his AOR from Sydney about 10 days after sponsorship was approved, and we've heard nothing from Sydney since then. Which according to the spreadsheet is out of the norm.

I had that same issue! There's a generic email you can use, rather than the case specific enquiry form. I used the email on Wednesday evening and had a reply on Friday morning.

Hi Ganubie - just an update for you... My partner received an email today saying that his application was received on 04/29/14, and listed Sydney as the VO. I'm assuming that the original letter we received stating our application was sent to Ottawa was incorrect, but I still have not received a response to my email that I sent to CPC-Ottawa on 25 June. Maybe you will be receiving a similar AOR soon?

Thanks for the update sjenkins! We still haven't heard anything but I am hopeful it will be by the end of the week, going by your timeline...and hopefully ours was a mistake too!!!
