Cheers!

We're off to NZ in July for a second reception, and then honeymoon will be TBD! TBH, I'm a tad concerned about this PR card nonsense, but given what people have reported, if you have a copy of CoPR, a visa free passport, I have my Cdn ppt, and we explain we landed but haven't received it yet -should be ok. I can't really understand WHAT the card's purpose is - what does it do differently than a completed, authentic signed CoPR!

It's plastic, waterproof, and more durable, unlike paper? And it fits in a wallet. :)

If you're going in July and you don't have it I can't see it being an issue. Like you said, as long as you have the COPR with you I'm sure that's proof enough . Have u check to see if there is anything you can get as temporary?

I guess the card is just an easier way of showing you have rights to live there. Paper gets a bit gross after a while, especially if you travel a lot.

Hello All,

Did the Sydney visa office ask for a copy of the CSQ??

Yes... Sydney VO requested a copy of the CSQ but I don't remember at what stage they asked for it. I think it was at the point when they told us to proceed with MICC and then to send them a copy once we got it.

We emailed them a copy of the CSQ once we got it.

It's probably faster to email it to Sydney VO than to rely on MICC to forward it to them. :)

Note: Some VO ask for it and some do not. In our case, Sydney VO asked for it and we complied.

Cheers...

What is CSQ?

Hi Team,

My Partner and I's application was transferred to Sydney last week as I got approved to sponsor (win). My question is around her conviction she got 8 years ago for drink driving (License taken for 6 months). She is covered under the clean slate act of 2004 but will that apply in Canada? The website states they do accept clean slate act but I am getting mixed reviews online. Any help you be great.

Thanks for the response.

We received an AOR2 e-mail from sydney, australia on April 24, 2014, stating that our application for Permanent Residence was received on March 13, 2014. We completed the MICC's CSQ paperwork, which was granted/issued to us on May 8, 2014. On May 15, we contacted CIC's call centre enquiring whether they were aware that the CSQ was granted, and they said no. We haven't heard from the visa office and have not been asked to provide a copy of the CSQ. MICC's letter states that the information was transmitted to the visa office processing our file.

How did you send them a copy of the CSQ? To which e-mail address?

Quashed or spent scheme is 10 years and yes, Canada is supposed to follow those rules...My husband currently had an inland application refused for PR and part of the refusal was based on an indictable offense from 14 years ago from Australia, but that was Canada that made that decision...
We are in the midst of doing an outland PR which just got to Australia two weeks ago...

Hi all,

My wife landed last night at Pac Hwy x-ing. I meant to go to Peace Arch but I messed up taking a turn after getting gas. All worked out well and there was no wait in the office at all. It was super easy - I posted some more details in the Feb 2014 thread.

Now to join the PR wait club! Will try to do the SIN this week and then sort out the MSP through work

Cheers to all!

Hello!

I'm being sponsored through my common law partner who's a Canadian PR.
We've lived together for 3 years, here in Australia and Canada.
She is with me at the moment in Australia, but still has an address in Canada.

I lived in NSW/WA and QLD (less than 6 months there), do I need the police Clearance?
I lived in Alberta 8 months, do I need one for Canada?
And I'm from NZ and lived there most of my life, is the police clearance from NZ required as well or do I just need to give them permission to access the file?

My fiancee is planning on going back to Canada this year. Would it be a problem if we sent the application while she was not in Canada yet?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

It's a Certificate of Selection for Quebec and it's part of the process for those that live in Quebec.

If you didn't go through Quebec and CIC, don't worry about it. :)

We replied to the email from the VO with a copy of the CSQ. I'm not sure which email address it was but we just "replied" to the original email. Just make sure your ID is included.

The letter from MICC also said it would transmit the CSQ, but since the VO asked for it, we forwarded them a copy.
