WOW amazing job Torvic and Benjis! I wish I had that amount of info when we applied!

I will definitely say that the feminine touch on the application is a good thing!! Although I was helping out I can definitely say my fiance's dedication to our application was unbelievable and she really did get it done! We included around 120 photos of us from all around the world, photos with both sides of our family, samples of our thousands of FB messages, copies of phone bills, a detailed timeline of our relationship written from both sides (her and I) including plenty of mushiness. Its definitely a good thing to really open up and reflect exactly how important you are to each other! Also an important one for us was details of our instagram as we have thousands people of people who follow us in our travels, and the photos are in chronological order. Basically leave them with ZERO doubt you are in a legit and ongoing relationship. Oh and of course written and signed statements from friends and family verifying things to be true!

Someone asked on here about the financial support and it is not a requirement, although we did include an offer of employment from an ex employer to help bolster our application...

Once you get it all done go through it and the checklist several times, make sure dates all line up and make sense, make sure everything is signed and make sure everything is 100% complete. I know this sounds like a no brainer but if anything is incomplete it will be a very annoying delay on the application so it's worth going over it a few times!

Torvic and Benjis, did they send the PR cards yet?

My brain is fried after a long hot day at work! Good luck!!!

Wow. You guys did an amazing job, I wish I'd read this post earlier. My "proof of relationship" section was really weak. Photos from our wedding and reception, copy of our wedding certificate and about 20 pages of Facebook posts. Now I'm really worried it wasn't enough! Fingers crossed.

Quick question - I'm here in Vancouver looking to get my medical done.. I've called around to about 5-6 different places and it seems the cheapest I can get is $275 and it's apparently e-medical or something like that...

Does anyone have any recommendations for this area? Can someone also enlighten me with regards to the results of this medical being completed - does it take days/months for this information to be transmitted?

Thanks in advance once again guys! :)

I went to a Dr Dweyer I think his name was, he was located at 750 W Broadway. Mine was $250 WITH Hep test as I have tattoos.

Once your file is transferred to Sydney and you have a UCI you could always send more evidence. It put my mind at ease.

If your medical is done in AUS it's lodged digitally so basically same day it goes to a 3rd party medical database in Singapore believe it or not! The consulate access's it from there. In Canada I'm not sure but I'd assume it's the same deal. Everything is digital these days.

The website is showing an update from March 12 saying the current processing time for PR cards is 51 days. This would be fantastic as I'm planning a road trip from here to Las Vegas at the end of May and would really hope to have my card by then. Tue Apr 29 would be my 51 days and May 27 would be my leaving date which is 79 days so fingers crossed that it all comes together hahaha. I guess we'll be waiting to hear from you Style! Torvic should be about a week after that and hopefully I'm just a few days behind =D I'm keeping tabs on the PR Card Arrival Timeline thread as well and it looked like the last updates were around 2 months. Times generally pick up around now to June/ July so maybe we'll get lucky with really fast card arrivals too! :D

Is there any way to track their sending of the cards? I haven't looked into it.

haha No I'll be way behind! I'm sure they don't start counting the days until after you've landed right? I'm not even landing until Aug 1! Wait... Or do they? I kinda thought the PR card was something they sent out after you've landed and they send to a Canadian address? I cross in and out all the time so once I'm landed hopefully I can get it pretty quick.

Oh duuuuhhh, I totally forgot you haven't landed yet haha. Don't mind me, I function on minimal sleep and my brother called me from Aus last night... At midnight lol. I guess I'm waiting on Torvic then haha. I'm hoping the times are relatively accurate and I can be expecting it mid next month!

Thanks heaps for this recommendation - I called 7 different clinics and this was by far the cheapest one around town and it's not far from where I live also, so it's really convenient!

It's all starting to come along nicely now...

Questions regarding photo submissions - do you need to submit originals? or can you just print digital photos in colour with descriptions on the side (it sounds like this is okay, but just clarifying what other people have done!)

Thanks again guys :) I can see why people feel so in debt to this forum with such wonderful people supporting one another through one of life's most interesting and stressful ordeals - IMMIGRATION!

You're welcome, I called every single office in the Vancouver area asking for prices and he's the cheapest, pretty quick process too.

I just pasted colour pics into Word and put the info beneath it. I did 2 to a page but we really didn't have many photos, I've read most people put between 4-8 photos a page so it's up to you.

I feel like this forum should be in one of those 'WHY AREN'T THEY FUNDING THIS?!' memes, it's honestly more invaluable and informative than the whole CIC site combined.

On a side note is anyone else surprised that Sydney's processing times didn't change with the update?

hello, can anybody tell me just how long or the longest timeframe to recieve passport back with visa? or can i contact sydney consulate if it takes too long?

Hi gang,
Just saying hey and seeing how everyone is doing. No news from the Feb thread in a bit...i seem to be the only syd applicant there!!! Things seem to be stuck still in mid Feb which is great....

Cheers!

Mine arrived at Missisauga exactly a week ago now, so I'm now waiting. Freaking out about how little info I put in relationship proof (wedding photos, 20 pages of facebook photos/statuses from our relationship). But Benjis_monkisuss says I can send more later so that's good. Have you received your AOR yet?

Negative. Feb thread has some people from Feb 18/20th but also missing people from 12-14th (possible some didn't report it here though).

AOR this morning.

AOR this morning.

Congrats! As soon as you're out of Mississauga you should see some pretty fast processing!

Soooo stoked!
That is awesome, congratulations :)
Now fingers crossed that its a short few months and you'll get great news.
We got an email about 6 weeks after it got to sydney saying we were approved.

I'm sure you've been told this already but you'll hear from the Sydney office by email
before CIC website updates. I use to check it a few times a day waiting for some news but
checking your email is way better.

I hope you get the all clear soon so you dont stress going through all the different scenarios anymore.
Are you in Canada already?
