It could have been a bit quicker but we were on vacation when the Request to confirm Passport Details came in.

But yes... We're very lucky that it went this quickly. G'luck to you, too.

Hi Torvic, we haven't heard anything from Sydney yet. I don't think that sounds like any cause for concern tho, they seem to let you know things more than once. Its funny when I read on here people having not paid things up front via CC or not having the right police checks. I'm really hoping the fact we did everything in advance helps things go through really fast...
Yeah we hope you're right about that.

Congrats man! That is insanely fast! On that timeline I'd be getting residency in under 2 months from now! What's the secret?

No secret, really...

We did the applications ourselves. Did going through Quebec help? I don't know... We've been living together in Canada for 3-4 years with a work permit. We submitted medical and police checks upfront.

I was thinking maybe 6 months, but I'll take 3. :)

G'luck...

Hi Netkid....

Your inbox is full so I can't reply.

Oh sweet! Well we didn't go through Quebec but we're in the same boat, ton of evidence, everything done and paid up front, no dependents... Lets hope this comes through fast so we can get back to BC!.. My Jeep almost certainly has a dead battery by now...

So I was looking through the dataset for all CIC offices...

http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3

For Sydney VO (PR Post by Yr tab), there was only 19 applications for Quebec out of a total 480 last year. Perhaps that's why it was so quick...?

Yeah that could explain it.. Either way I guess it seems like the 11 months they quote on the cic is almost worst case scenario if you have everything in order. Ours is probably in Sydney about now so we're expecting 6 months and if its sooner then awesome!

Hang in there mate, it will come through soon enough.

I left Canada a month after submitting my application and booked my flights to come back six months later. I got back to Sydney, committed to a six month contract at work and then as luck would have it my PR was sorted two months later. It's frustrating as I could be in Canada now had it not been for my job but then again it is a better situation to be in than the stress of having flights booked and not having my PR.

I definitely think the best way forward is to expect the worst and hope for the best.

Good luck!

Hi,

We applied for outland PR and received SA Jan. 6, 14 with the notification that they were forwarding our application to Australia. So far the sponsor portion says Decision Made and the applicant section reads Application Received. Does this mean they are reviewing the application even though it doesn't say in progress, or is that wishful thinking?

Also, we had to order a police check from the UK and it arrived after we had sent the application (3 days). Without hesitating I sent the police check to Mississagua thinking it would be added to our application. After receiving SA I was instructed to send all further documents to Australia. Was that a huge mistake? Should I reorder the check so there are no further delays?

Thanks PaddyO I think you're right. We've committed to being here in Aus until at least Aug no matter what and I think that kinda takes the stress off waiting for it to be approved and checking every ten minutes haha Now we can just get on with life and keep an eye on it to make sure its all going through, but it doesn't really matter if I get approved in 1 month or 6 months from now. Still.. cant wait to get that email!

I *think* Missisauga will forward it to Sydney but I'm not sure. I guess if it's properly identified, it'll go where it's supposed to go?

You'd think that. It still didn't stop me from checking almost every day.

ECAS is a funny thing. I'd already had the email from CIC before the status changed to "in process" and I had picked up my COPR documents from the Sydney VO before it changed to "decision made".
