Don't even consider doing it inland. Sydney is moving very quickly at the moment and it's highly likely you would have PR through Sydney before the first stage is completed inland. There's people in this thread that have received their confirmation of PR in 3-4 months, most seem to be happening within six months.

The spreadsheet is here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmVlTaJuxc5kdFlsVkRfVFVOTWtCYjVjdU9tR1o2aXc&richtext=true#gid=0

It's not very useful (in my humble opinion) because so many of us haven't had our info added. When looking at the spreadsheet it also pays to keep in mind the fact that for several months of this year visa officers were on strike, which slowed applications down. The posted processing times for applications through Sydney were last updated during the strike. Prior to the strike Sydney had processing times of 8 months. This means 80% of applications were completed within 8 months. I suspect that the next update will show Sydney's times are back to normal or even less.

I hope this helps with your decision-making.

And you just add your own info to Spread sheet.

Hi all, Got my COPR in the mail on the 28th !! So good to have it .. now its just the small matter of moving left ! One thing that was pretty strange though was that the envelope with my COPR in it that was delivered to my house has someone elses name on it !?!?! dont know how that happens but I'm glad I opened it !

Go through Sydney one hundred percent. They were not affected by strike look at my timeline. As long as your paper work is all complete correctly and you have solid evidence it is quick. I did my medical and paid my right of residency fee before i sent it of to speed it up as well.

Thanks for your replies, guys. We decided to go with Sydney, as it made the most sense based on what we have heard/read around these parts. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly!

Good luck Torvic.

I'm not going to lie, the waiting game is not fun at all. My advice would be prepare for the worst, i.e. that it will take the 11 months it says on the CIC website, but hope for the best. If your application is in order and all forms are 100% correct you should be fine.

Keep us updated with your progress. All the best!

Oh I hope you guys are right!!! We just sent mine in last week and we're going through Sydney. My fiance is sponsoring me and we are both staying here in Aus until it goes through... Everything has been paid and medicals done, tons of evidence.. I can't believe some people here have had id go through in 3-4 months!! Thats amazing!

Ours was officially delivered by FedEx on Monday this week. Will be interesting to see how both of ours progress through the stages.

Good luck to both of you. Hopefully, you too will soon be posting here to say your applications are charging along quickly.

Do we get a confirmation of receipt for police check? I sent mine on Nov 1st via ups and it was delivered on Nov 4th, i don't see any updates on e-cas.

ecas isn't exactly reliable as CIC seems to update or not as they please. However, police checks are often not entered so I wouldn't worry about it. You have confirmation that it was delivered by UPS so you can be confident that they got it.

Thank you Catou! This does ease my nerves!

Hello all! My boyfriend received his AOR stating that CIC got our app Dec 3. Hopefully SA is next for us then transfer to Sydney! Good luck every one.

Hey guys, we just got our AOR from CIC saying they got it on Dec. 9.

Hi,

Can somebody help me how to obtain an Australia police certificate in BC, Canada? I lived and worked in Queensland Australia for more than a year and didn't had a driver's license.

Hi Mario,

Information regarding the AFP police certificates is available via the following link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/australia.asp

Hello,

I made 2 bank cheques of AUD 490 each in favour of "CONSULATE GENERAL OF CANADA IN SYDNEY" (1 for myself and other one for my spouse), drawn on Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Is this the correct method of paying RPRF in Australia for FSWP migration? I am very stressed at this moment. Please help... ??? ???

Thanks,
Imran
