Just got PPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great way to end a weekend, especially when I spent most of this afternoon updating my resume and searching for jobs. I thought I was being stupid doing it before PR came through, I guess it was just in time.

Congrats, that is great news. how long do you expect before you finally get residency?

hopefully sydney are finishing off a whole batch this week and a few people will see the PPR

Congrats. You can search for jobs now with full dedication :)

My fingers and toes are crossed for all of us.

In the last few days however, I have secured an interview for a job in Kelowna working with my brother in law. I have my plane tickets and will be in Kelowna on the 10th March with my working holiday visa - would love to have PR before then though so I don't have to buy insurance and do a US border trip!

Happy New Year to all 8)

yayyyyyyyy! Congrats Rachiy! what a great new years pressie! Can i ask how you supplied your pp? Did you email copies of each page or send in hard copies? Not long until you have your COPR! Good luck with the job hunt!!!

Thanks!!

Matthew_fitzy you should have your PR by then. Or you will get the day after you arrive on your working holiday. lol. Thats exciting, I love Kelowna!

Bagel I am still working on submitting it. I wasn't able to get the scanned copy down to less than 3.5mb to email them, and couldn't figure out how to compress a pdf. I emailed it to my Mum in NZ who is going to try a few tricks to get the size down and if she can't then she will just mail the photocopy from NZ. Either way it will get there a lot faster than from me in Canada. I was pulling my hair out and ready to throw the scanner and laptop out the window last night.

rachly,

same thing happened to me! i had to re-size them and I wish I could remember how I did it to tell you! it took hours though, very annoying! something with the properties when the scanner thing pops up on the computer... I was so happy when it worked and I emailed it to them!

I also mailed it to them by registered mail from toronto on december 10th and it never got there!!! so it's best to do it by email.

they also told me they send COPR on december 17th but still no sign of it! they put the wrong postal code, so hopefully it will get here soon! we are anxious to flagpole at buffalo asap!

good luck !

My PPR has just arrived via email, very happy!!

Do they require of every single page in my pp? Including blank ones?

Also it says that my " permanent resident visa is valid until 24 June 2013"
What does that mean?

Thanks

Congrats kiwikiwi!!

Yes they want every page including the blank ones. It just means that you will have until June 24 2013 to land. This date is usually when your medical expires as they are only valid for 12 months.

Oh great, thanks for your help!!

and i can just send these off to the same email address that sent me the appendix 3 form?

Yes. The email address is also written on the letter somewhere, or you can just hit reply. They have a size limit on attachments of 3.5mb which is really small when you need to scan a 50 page passport. I couldn't get mine any smaller than 3.8mb (started with 17mb even on low res settings!) so ended up just asking my Mum to mail it all from NZ and get it tracked.

Sounds like a have a challenge a head of me, unfortunately i am in a work camp with out my passport or a scanner for the next week so it will have to wait anyway.

One last question though, once a decision has been made are you emailed a confirmation that you can then take to the border? or do you have to wait for the snail mail for the COPR to arrive? i only ask because i have a Vegas trip booked for early next month and my fingers are crossed that everything is done and dusted by then and i can cross the border and receive my PR on the way in.

Thanks again everyone, this forum has been very helpfully in estimating time lines, i really appreciate everybody contributions.

We have to wait for CoPR to come by snail mail unfortunately. I was hoping I could just give my credit card details to have it couriered and tracked, but without an account with Fed ex or UPS there is not much choice.

yup... still waiting for ours by snail mail. they sent it dec 17th. everything else is though email I wish the COPR was too!

That sucks about compressing it further! How did you create the PDF's? Directly from the scan? I basically only made the front few pages colour and made the rest black and white. Did they ask for colour only? Mine ended up being 1.8 MB that way.
Also if you have Acrobat Professional (not just Acrobat reader) you can crop the pages to size which reduces the file size significantly!

I hope your mom is able to send it ok!
