I just received stage 2 AOR, listing my UCI and Application number. I try to not think about our application constantly, but it's great to receive news that something is actually moving along :)

That's so fast...we are still waiting for Stage 1 AOR and we submitted before...trying not to read anything into it. Hopefully we are just in a slow pile and there's nothing wrong with our application!

My wife (the sponsor) just received UCI and application number in an email. Is this stage 1 or 2 AOR? Can the spreadsheet be updated accordingly? Thanks :)

Hey matthew_fitzy. Does the email contain an address from Sydney VO? If not, it sounds like a Stage 1 AOR from Mississauga or Ottawa. You will probaby receive sponsorship approval soon- congrats!

Thanks! Does not seem to be any indication of Sydney yet. The body of the email was as follows:

Dear Carling Josee Lessard,

This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2012/09/21 on behalf of the following member(s):

MATTHEW JOSEPH FITZGERALD

No approval email yet, it seems as though a lot of others received both on the same day, according to the spreadsheet?

Yes, that's true, that is definitely an AOR, and you are likely to get sponsorship approval shortly. The only reason it may take a little bit longer to receive is if you are in Aus and they send you the approval by mail- taking 2-3 weeks, but most people have been getting email approvals lately. Congrats and good luck!

Congrats on your AOR matthew_fitzy! It is definitely stage 1, as stage 2 is addressed to the applicant, not the sponsor.

I have updated the spreadsheet. The reason some of the AOR's and stage one approvals are listed as the same date is that many people never receive an AOR, but seeing as it is basically just to tell you that the application has been received, when the approval comes through this doubles as an AOR. It just helps the spreadsheet look clean, and once stage 1 is approved the AOR is kinda irrelevant anyway.

You will hear about your approval soon, as bagel stated it may take a few weeks for the mail to reach you, but hang in there. I never received an AOR, and the approval came snail mail dated three weeks earlier and it only had to travel from Ottawa to Calgary.

This happened to me too BCRain, but we got our letter snail mail and it was dated before the others who applied after me. The letter might be sitting in a pile waiting for outgoing mail, or it might just be in transit. Mine took three weeks from the date it was approved to arriving in Calgary! I know even some of the emails are sent out with the letter dated for a week or so earlier.

Don't read too much into it, you will be fine.

Thanks for the encouraging words Rachiy. I will try to be distracted by other things in the meantime...like Halloween candy!

Hey

Regarding the PPR, i see some people received it via post, did anyone receive it via email at all?

Thanks

The longer it's been since my application has been out, the more worried I get about everything as I read about everything other people have submitted.

I sent around 70 photos from 2006 onwards of my husband and I together, proof that we've had a two joint bank accounts since 2009, that sort of thing, but I read about how everyone else wrote stories about why they're immigrating together (which we didn't do) and that sort of thing and I'm starting to worry that I should have done more :(

Hopefully the fact that we've been living together since early 2008 and married since early 2009 will help!

don't worry chipits, things will be fine... just that this procedure takes a bit of time to process and therefore makes us all angsty waiting, not knowing where our applications are...

good luck!

I agree with minijungle- waiting can do crazy things.
I would think that 70 photos is more than enough. It's really quality over quantity, I think. I only sent around 20 photos, but the ones I sent showed a variety with family, friends, special events or what not. I didn't write a story either, as I had already kind of doubled up on elaborating on some of the answers, so thought it was excessive to add anything further.
Every case is different, and sometimes it makes it worse, not better when you compare your own application to others on the forum!

The fact you have been married and living together for so long means you shouldn't have much to worry about!

Thanks everyone! I know I shouldn't panic, and it's only been like a week haha, I just can't help myself!!

Confirming stage 1 approval, received the email today (30th) and the application has been forwarded to Sydney! Please update the spreadsheet 8)

Congrats! Wow they really are moving fast now.

Chipits- no dramas! I think we have all been through the panic more than once! The worry is like a cycle - it goes away for a month or so and then seems to come back again. It's good to get reassurance from the forum ;)
