I received a letter yesterday from the Sydney office saying my application was in the final stages of processing it was requesting a photocopy of every page in my passport. Do I need to provide this as i failed to included it in my original application? Or do i no longer need to send my original passport to have my visa issued?

This is instead of sending in your passport. Congratulations!! May I ask when Sydney received your application etc?

Aussie Kid, you have made my day!!! Hopefully this means I'll get a similar request in a week or so

Here is the official notice about how applicants from visa-exempt countries may only need to send a photocopy of their passport:

Thanks for posting this info! I wasnt sure whether Sydney would request it so my partner just sent photocopies of every page in his passport this week. Just hoping it'll quicken the process if they already have it!

Have you received any update on E-cas or your COPR yet? My status was updated to Decision Made, and we have already sent in the copies of the passport so does that mean that they will just send the COPR? or could they still need additional docs?

I just checked e-cas and it has been updated to DECISION MADE!!!!!

It says: 'A decision has been made on [my name]'s application. The office will contact [my name] concerning this decision.'

SO EXCITED / ANXIOUS to know what the decision is!!

Congratulations Kiwicanuck! Looks like sydney office is really quick! I guess that our "decision made" is an approval cause now my boyfriends ecas has his address as "Vancouver,BC,Canada"! Just hoping they have the correct NZ address to send the visa to!

Thanks! I'm so EXCITED! Cant believe how quick the whole process was! Visa arrived this Morning! I'm sure yours is on the way! Mine just got here quicker cause i'm so close to Sydney!

Irenz, did you have to sign to receive your visa?

I got home today and had a 'missed delivery' notice from the courier on my door...hoping it might be my COPR!!

It WAS my COPR!!!!! Issued March 5th.

They didn't even ask for a copy of my passport!!!!!

So happy and relieved I plan to drive across the Buffalo border and 'land' tomorrow!

Congratulations! Yeah I got the same card and had to collect it the next day! Its great that they dont request the passports anymore, makes it so easy! Good Luck!!

Landed today very smoothly! Can't believe it's all over...now just waiting for the PR card to arrive in 6-8 weeks.
