Sydney office contacted my husband (in Melbourne, I'm in Canada), telling him to advise his sponsor to make payment of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee to Mississauga, which I did last week. Any idea how long the process may take from here? I sent the receipt to Mississauga on Tuesday. I really hope this speeds by....

Once you have submitted everything to Mississauga......the current processing time for sponsor is 69 days. This time keeps changing depending on the manpower in CIC. They are pretty close to the time line mentioned.......however it can also be completed within a month. And once your file is transferred to Sydney......it can take newhere from 2 weeks to monthss depending if your paperwork is complete........you might expect a bit of delay due to Christmas season holidays.

Thanks, Pat.

I was approved as a sponsor in mid-August, and his application was opened in Sydney on August 18. Medical results have been received, and he was contacted to provide his driver's abstract/record, which he did about a month ago. I was assuming that since they requested the RFPR fee was requested and has now been paid, that things would go quite quickly. Has this been anyone else's experience?

I am just pissed offffff at Sydney today.........I had sent my passport couple of weeks ago for my visa to be stamped.....along with a paid return Platinum express post bag with my address on it.........and someone over there posted it yesterday and forgot to sign the dangerous goods statement and it is being sent back to sydney now...... >:( >:( >:( how can someone be so irresponsible......arrrghhhhhh :(

:D :P just got my passport back with my approved PR..........sooo happy that finally wait is over.......time to pack!!!!!!

Hi All,

Another question for the application that we are preparing. Do all documents that we include in the application (photocopies of passports, proof that I will returning to canada with my wife once granted, etc) need to be certified? The way I have read it is that only documents that are not in English or French need to be certified, but I want to double check with those who have been successful in their applications.

Thanks in advance everyone,
Marc

Hi Marc

We didn't certify any copies and we had a successful application.

Passport request came through letter.
AOR was by email.

Is it possible to personally visit Sydney to get the passport stamped or it has to be sent via post?

Hi all, another kiwi joining the ranks! We have only just submitted our app to Mississauga but it is great to see how quickly Sydney is getting things done! Here's hoping the Christmas season doesn't slow things down too much.

Good luck everyone!!

Hey all, Aussie married to a Canuck here: Sydney office received my application Sept 2nd & sponsorship was approved in November, so now it's just waiting and hoping for a quick process!

Wait - sponsorship was approved two months AFTER your application was sent to Sydney?

I know, I said that too. That's the order of the letters received, and online says 'Application Received' as of Sept 2nd.
oh well, it's in and processing that's all that matters!

Definitely :) I was just wondering if there was another order to do things :) Good luck with the processing!

Hi all, just thought I'd update this thread too.

PPR just last week, so a very quick process for me.

App rcvd @ CPC-M: 31 Aug 2011
Spons. Apprvd: 8 November 2011
VO Sydney rcvd: 15 Decmber 2011
PPR (copy only): 19 December 2011

Just seen courier has delivered my passport copies, hope to get the final word from Sydney shortly!

Good luck to the rest of you! :)
