I think that my passport may have been lost on its way to the NYC Consulate! And now the 60 days to send it in is running out in a week...

Finally got our AOR, it was sent Dec 14th and we received it Dec 23rd. We sent everything back, police clearance, new notarized birth certificate same day overnighted to Bogota.

So hopefully we get some news a little quicker this time,

Please update our status,

Thanks

My wife has finally landed in Canada on Dec 22...just in time for the holidays!! We flew in from Korea into the Vancouver airport. The immigration officers were really pleasant and it took in total about 10 min. The process was much easier that i thought it would be. Thx for all the help. This forum helped me out lots. Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting!!

Well everyone, it looks like we will be out of this forum because we got our passport today. We will be back in Canada in March.

We wish you all the best of luck and thanks for all your valuable support.

Happy New Year!

Hi can_usa_97. Can I ask why you think you won't be using it? Hope everything is okay and it is nice to hear from you.

There are many factors, but mainly it is because of the unlikelihood of our house selling. We just can't carry rent & a mortgage and can't afford to take a 10K hit on our house either. Our trip to see dhs family wasn't as wonderful as we thought and I think the hope we had for the life we wanted, and the family we wanted - why we were doing this - is a pipe dream. :(

That's very sad to hear :( Have you at least completed the landing is case the circumstances change in the future?

We haven't, I haven't a clue how we'd go about doing it with a house full of goods to claim to follow and the whole procedure that would complicate things. And, my husband is a green card holder here in the states so we wouldn't want to jeopardize that (if it would). I guess it's possible to claim everything in our house now, and hubby could bring the remaining goods under his 10K limit, but then we have 2 cars as well in limbo.
We do have till June, to land though.

You've got awhile to figure it out but I would definitely suggest doing it. Your hubby will keep his green card as long as your residing in the US. I guess you could just do the landing process with a goods to follow bringing nothing with you at the time. Many peolpe land and then come to Canada a year or so later when they finish up jobs or sell their homes. It would be worth it to look into it. Good luck with whatever route you choose!

My passport arrived - finally! I thought it had been lost in the mail (it took a trip through a wrong continent by mistake) so I was extremely happy to see it in the mail today.

Landing very soon!

Congrats silverbee. Please share your landing story.

Also, July people I am still barely holding in there in this long wait. I will post when I hopefully get the good news in April. 3 more months to go. Ahh.. is it normal to be getting nervous? :o

Congrats Silverbee! Can't imagine losing the passport at this point... so happy it arrived.

Love_young - totally normal! I have no reason to think there will be any problem with my application but still so worried that we haven't heard anything yet (even though I know people who applied before me are still waiting too). Of course it's normal to be anxious about something that has such a huge implication on our lives!

I'm now booking plan tickets etc so this thing better come through!!!

Today has been 2 months since our interview with no word from them...gahhhh!! I ordered CAIPS notes again a month ago, so hopefully I will have something to focus on in a few days. Waiting is the worst!

Hi All,

My application was sent in July of this 2010. Our next step should be the request of my passport - and I hope we receive that soon. We were married one year before we submitted my application - so it has been a long time coming. I wanted to vent to someone who's in a similar situation. :-\ The waiting has begun to drive me crazy.

Cheers,
Linalizzie

We have not had an updated chart for a while - who is still here and waiting??
