No updates on this thread in four days!!

I'm just wondering, on the chart for this thread there are a few people who we haven't heard from in a while... Are you guys still around and just haven't heard anything to report yet?

Maybe all the "waiting" people can pop in with a little update so we know if you're timelines are up to date or if you've abandoned the thread.

My update is - waiting to submit our final police clearance because SA is messing us around. Have been waiting almost 4 months for it!

Hi waitingintz, I am still around. Should be for another 5 months or more for us.
I don't have any update. Though I am still unable to log into e-Cas as well as the e-Cas tracker. However, when I call about it, they just say that I may not be able to until a decision is made. That won't be until at least April. Oh my!!

I am planning on changing my name on my passport to my marriage name and then updating them about the change soon just need to wait on next paycheck and get passport pictures done. I will let you know when I do that. Best of luck to everyone that is still waiting. I hope for good news to come soon to all of us.

We are currently in Canada visiting family. My husband on a long shot sent out two resumes on Sunday night late and Monday at 8am, he got a reply, and had a phone interivew today, and is going in person for one tomorrow.

We hadn't planned on it things moving quickly but this job actually is sounding really good - and in an area we can afford and at a salary that is a step up from hubbys current one - scary things are moving- being of course if he gets this.

I am still waiting for my passport to be returned from Buffalo though.

If there are any updates, I'll update them when I'm back home - I'm on a netbook and it'll be easier on the larger

Hello, we are still waiting, nothing has changed for us, except I found out that Singapore doesn't send out a mailed AOR.

Well we finally got hubbys visitor visa extended. We applied in July and asked for 1 year thinking we'd probaly get 6 months. However they gave him a year!!! So he's good until August 2011! We are so happy. I'm pretty sure our app will be done by hat so hopefully he won't have to go back to the USA except for landing.

I was able to see that they attempted to deliver my passport back home today - which I knew would happen while we were gone. So that'll be there when we get back. My husband has been offered the job he interviewed for, so now it's just what to do - carry a mortgage and a rental. Decisions!

I mailed it 2 weeks ago tomorrow- but they accepted it last Wednesday and mailed it back to me a week and a day later.

Hi .

Would u plz tell me what sort of proof u sent along with ur application to proof ur relatuionship genuine? R u married or in a common-law relationship? I have sent in total 15 photos of my wedding, reception, gaye holud, and engagement with fb amd email msgs but those were written in our native laguage. Will that be a problem that we didnt made translation of those messages? Beacuse we thought that real one will be better rather than making any translation. We sent our wedding card also.


My wife is staying with me so i had to sent an acceptance letter from her college to proof that she will be going with me when i get visa. In addition I said that her parents already staying in Canada so they will arrange a flat for us so that we can stay. Point to be noted is my wife is a naturalized canadian citizen for 15 years. She stayed in bangladesh for last 6 years from 2002 to 2008 with her parents and then she along withe her parents and brothers went to canada to resume their status in Canada. And in 2010 may she again came to Bangladesh to marry me and since then she is staying there with me. Will that be any problem because of her staying 6 years in Bangladesh? We said we dont want to continue any long distance relationship so she will be staying with me until my visa is issued. We had 2 years relation before getting married.

I sent around 120 photos, inside a document I created, detailing the last 13 years. Trying to include a photo for each month. There were periods where we just didn't do anything, or take any photos- and nothing of significance took place. There were other times, where I had to curb myself from adding too many photos. We've been married 13 years. We have 3 1/2 year old twins together who are Canadian by birth to my husband, who was born in Canada. HTH!

I got my passport back today, visa affixed. Yey.

Now just sorting out the house sale, we're going to have to drop it to sell if we want to move with this job offer my hubby got. Stress.
If we do move, the 28th of December, it'll be exactly 13 years and 5 days since my husband moved to the US!

We sent that back, and it was received in early November (according to the courier company), so now we are just waiting - I suppose our PPR will come whenever anyone checks back on our file? Could be anytime between now and the 90 days that they gave us to send in the documents.

So yeah. Still waiting. But, it's ok, my partner has a 1 year visitor's record, and we're getting ready to meet our baby. It would be nice to have the visa process finished by the holidays, but we weren't planning to travel at all, since I'm due in January.

My husband and I are in the same boat. Was asked for additional documents and given 90 days. I was hoping they would mail/email us by now (they received the docs Oct 18, and we emailed an address change about a week or so ago) but I'm expecting we won't hear anything until Jan after the 90 days has passed. Once Im back in Canada with my hubby later this week (he's coming up as a visitor so hoping for no problems at the border) we're going to submit a request for CAIPS notes.

Great to see some updates! Congrats can_usa and good luck with the move.

i really hope they don't actually wait the 90 days to re-check the file for additional docs! We finally submitted our last documents (SA police check and sponsor proof of citizenship) on Nov 25. It was requested Nov 1 so 90 days would get us to the end of January. I would assume they do the background check in meanwhile anyway so not like it's just sitting in a pile waiting.

I finally gave notice at work yesterday (giving them lots of notice because we're in the middle of expanding so the timing is terrible and I'll need to find and train up a replacement before I go) so now really locked into leaving by April... that would give the visa office 7 months processing... hope it's enough!!
