Thanks silverbee, and thanks also for the change in perspective! I had been kind of upset, because now it is unlikely that our file will be revisited before the 90 days they are giving us to send in the additional paperwork, but honestly, my partner is here in Vancouver with me now and he was given a 1 year visitor's record, so you're absolutely right - we should think of this as being a positive sign of progress in our application, rather than a weird unnecessary delay.

Hi Minna

You are right that it is not required other than for co-sponsors... I had heard before submitting that it is sometimes requested so we went ahead and got one notarized just as an extra piece of evidence.

I agree with Silberbee... if that's all they asked for I think it sounds pretty positive! Looks like you'll be finished soon.

Also it really doesn't seem like they wait the 90 days before looking at the file again. Most people seem to hear back much sooner than that.

Good luck!

@silverbee - haven't heard anything since the AOR but we're through Pretoria which is a little longer and as my partner has lived in three different African countries I'm guessing the background checks may take a little longer.

Hey Minna,

I had forgotten to sign one of the forms (I felt like such an idiot) and they shipped the whole application back before they even approved our sponsorship (this was in early September). We got one of those 'send this info within 90 days' letters. I turned it around ASAP and within a few weeks they approved our sponsorship (by the end of September!) and they requested my passport last week! so don't despair, it doesn't seem to me that they always wait the full 90 days before looking at your application again.

I finally caved and submitted a Case Specific Enquiry, even though it says not to unless you have been in process for over 6 months... now someone will put my application further down in the pile ;)

I though I had finally figure out why I wasn't hearing back froM Buffalo - Nor getting a bounce back from my email.

There is a "re" in the front of their email address when they reply.. I emailed a minute ago and got an immediate reply to one of my previous emails - but it was not helpful. It just said the same thing essentially.

"As indicated in our previous reply, your message has been forwarded to the processing team."

I am going to take that as I don't need to get a new FBI Certificate then.... .and pray that is the case.
And they don't slow down my case for emailing again. Forwarding to processing team doesn't really help me... or I guess I can just assume they will let me know again, if I need it. Blech!

Just an update.

My common-law partner got his PPR on Oct 6 and we sent his passport on Oct 7 to the London office from Toronto by registered mail. We received his passport back with the shiny visa yesterday Oct 27!! We were going to drive to buffalo to Flagpole but the car was acting up so we're going on Tuesday instead. Wish us luck.

Good luck to all of you still waiting!! I hope for speedy turn arounds for everyone!

Grrr..

When I used to sign on to e-cas my wife's full name was there (spelled correctly) and contained the 2 last names that are common in Hispanic families.

Now - the 2nd last name is off for some reason! Seems kinda backwards!

Should we notify the embassy now, and my what means?

Gracias.

Hey everyone,

I was approved for sponsorship Aug 22nd, the letter stated the application was being sent to Bogota Colombia for my wife.

Its not 2 months and 8 days later and still she cant login and no updates on e-cas.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Thanks :) My FBI Cert not being sent certainly delayed me, but not much it would seem. :)
Now just to wait patiently for the decision/request.
