Hi everyone, I also sent my application for my husband a few weeks back, still isn't updated on ecas but I know it's a bit too early for that.
Have my fingers crossed that I'll be with him soon. I wish everyone else all the best and I'll keep updating on my status too

so far my details are:

Mailed Application = Jan 20/2010
Received Application = Jan 21/2010

My friend in Canada checked the mail and there is a letter from immigration. YAY. now i just have to wait for my husband/sponsor to get there in 16th of feb and open it and skype the result for me. hopefully positive result

Hi Everyone
I got decision made letter today Feb.5, 2010 and they returned application saying that i am in previous sponsorship default means previous spouse took social assistance during the validity period of three years. I applied even three years ended but i never know that my former spouse took social assistance. They say i can again send application after paying that debt. They did not mention the debt amount but they said i can send request to local Minsitry of Community and Social assistance (MCSA) to get the amount. When i called their overpayment recovery unit number provided by CPC-Mississauga that said they can send the request to MCSA to get amount of debt that will take 4-6 weeks and after that i can pay that whole amount and again they will take 4-6 weeks to send me letter stating that debt cleared and i can sponsor again. I want to say that they kept some of my documents like my CRA Notice of assessment, Original Job Letter, sponsorship Agreement, Original Fee Receipt and rest all documents were returned. My questions are:
1. Is it really takes that much long time to get amount of debt and to get no debt letter?
2. Why they kept my above mentioned documents and do i have to send these ducuments photocopy again or not when re-applying hopefully after two month?
3. Do i have to sign new sponsorship agreement while re-applying or can i send same one i already have?
4. My PCC will be almost expiring but can i use them if 3-4 days of validity left before re-sending application?
5. Can i re-send same application with old dates like end of December 2009? Thanks lot.

Wooo-hoooo!! Got our decision made letter today (6 Feb) - I've been approved to sponsor and now our application for Mr. Cowtown's PR has been sent to London. ;D

Computer - I'm really sorry to hear about what happened. I don't know the answer to any of your questions - have you started a new thread asking your questions? I'm sure someone on the forum can help you. Good luck, I hope you get it sorted out quickly, stay positive.

Computer - I can´t answer your questions either . I really wanted a positive letter for you..but now it just takes more time and at the end it will be positive! I know its now a lot of help, but at least your case is not helpless!

my hubby said that he will do something about it..and I will get to know the decision letters inside very very soon..i like few days (A). excited!!

it have been 16 days since they have received my application ...nothing on e case ,,,,,,,,,,,ahhh i hate waiting

Computer - sorry to hear about your case. Hvae patience and everything will be fine.

I received my letter of approval on 4-Feb.

Does anybody know how long does it take before the local office wwill start processing? We are applying through New Delhi.

my wife's PR status on ecas has been updated to being "NOW In PROCESS" as of Feb 3 2010.

Computer, I'm sorry to hear about your situation and I don't have any answers to your questions either. Lets all think positive.

Hey All,
I thought I'd weigh in... I'm sponsoring my spouse outland, the application was received January 26th, and I am anxiously waiting for ecas to change... My partner is coming to Canada from New Zealand on Feb. 16th on what was supposed to be a one-year 'working holiday' visa but the canadian gov't decided they weren't going to issue them, but she already had the ticket, had quit her job, etc.; and so, she's coming, and we're just hoping that the immigration thing is done before the 6-month visitor visa is up so that she can get work and so that we can start living our lives with some sort of stability (it's been a year of marathon flights and jet-lag and brutal time-zone discrepancies, which I'm sure some of you can relate to.)

I got an e-mail from Buffalo (with a file number) stating that they received my application,
but it has to be assessed for eligibility to process before it can go into processing.
It goes on to say that if I am found ineligible for processing, that I will receive a letter
containing the reason, along with a refund. Joy :-\.
Wishing all of you the best with your progress as well. Every little bit counts. I'm hopeful.
