They asked for more pics..

Yes I do have more.. I'll be sending around 60 + photos...
Previously I send only around 40 Pics...

No update for me either but I just got the notification from Canadapost that they delivered my passport to the Detroit office..geez it took them 1 week with express!! and Monday being a holiday didn't help either. Hope someone from here gets good news today~~

Eventhough, we've rec'd PPR via e-mail last week, today, being a Tuesday, our E-CAS showed that medicals were rec'd. We will be driving to BUF on Thursday to hand in my husband's passport and land at the same time.

Just to let people know we landed on Oct. 3, 2010 at ten p.m. at Lewiston Bridge with a truck, horse trailer, furniture, boxes. We had our titles, car had been exported, lists were filled out, goods to follow list was filled out, and landing took two hours even though we were the only people in the office. Twelve people working, four of whom were women, and the rest were men. The women did all the work, and the men stood around talking about the CFL or NFL, what they bought at Costco, where to get the best fast food, etc. Then, they had a "65" whatever that was, and we had to stand back from the counter and go to the back of the building. Every immigration officer had their hand on their gun, and watched the door. Some guy escorted in handcuffs, but then it seemed like it was some kind of mistaken identity, and the fuss was over. Back to more stamping and stamping, and initialing of papers.

So, landing isn't a complete breeze, and for god sake's total up your "goods you are bringing" and "your goods to follow" form. There is no space for this on the sheet, but they still wanted us to tell them the totals. I can't imagine what it would be like for people who are disorganized. . . .

Good luck all the rest of "Junies" and "Buffalo" folks! Hope everything is done by Christmas for all of us!

Oh my. I am getting concerned because my husband has nothing to declare. Everything is here in Toronto already. Mostly clothes. He left his stuff at his parents' house because we have everything we need. Do we have to declare bank accounts as well? We're not transferring money or anything because what he has in his bank account now will be left there (not much there anyway).

Then he has no goods to follow and nothing to declare! My boyfriend will be the exact same. He's been here for over 2 years already and has bought most of what he has here. He'll get his visa in Buffalo and land with just me in tow

Dont worry Jancath. I was here for 5 years so had nothing to declare..all my goods were already here in Canada..so Landing was easy..all I had to do was initial my COPR in 2 places and sign in the box at the bottom..Landing times vary depending on how much you have to declare..if your importing a car or have goods to follow etc..

If you are landing at the USA/Canadian Boarder it is a good idea to look at the statistics for traffic going through the crossing and pick a day with the least traffic.

CeeGee..I am sorry to hear you didn't have a great landing experience..I also Landed at Lewiston..there were 3 women and the rest were men...standing around talking...but I had nothing to declare so took me a total of 20 minutes ...there was a guy there in hand cuffs trying to get into Canada when he was on parole in the USA so they detained him..he looked really mean too!

I am very new to this forum. The Canadian immigration lawyer that my Canadian husband and I (an American) hired to help us file our spousal application, supposedly mailed our application to Vegreville as I have been living and working in Canada since July 2008 on a work permit.

I filed a Humanitarian application last year and it was denied in March 2010 (they said I didn't have enough reasons to qualify under H&C and that I should apply under Skilled Worker -- at the time, we didn't think my husband could sponsor me because of past arrears for child support).

Anyway, I check the CIC website weekly and all that shows up is the decision that was made in March 2010 when they denied my H&C request. There is NOTHING on there regarding my current application.

I mailed a request for CAIPS notes this week. My lawyer said I could be waiting up to another month before my file even gets opened at Vegreville. Is this normal? They would have received the file in late June and it is already mid-October. 3.5 months seems like a very long time for a file to just sit there unopened.

Any advice? Anyone else had to deal with Vegreville? What was your wait time?

Any kind of Inland application takes much longer than an Outland application...You would have been better not to get a lawyer..unless you have a very complex case involving past criminal activities or being barred from Canada etc..You would also have been better to apply Outland Via Buffalo you could have almost had PR by now!

The fact that your Husband has past arrears for child support has no bearing on your application at all...my Husband is still paying child support arrears and been discharged from Bankruptcy and he was approved to sponsor me. We filed spouse outland via London UK (application went to Mississauga) in June and I landed 2 weeks ago! (I have lived in Canada as a Visitor for 5 years and was in Canada at the time of my application)

It is normal to wait 8-9 months Inland Via Vegreville to get sponsorship approved!
