Hi all,

After a bit of drama i.e. send the package via DHL, arrived home and saw the photo's lying on the table, rushed back and sorted this out...
So finally, it's on it's way to Mississauga. Now the wait begins

...

Hi nj123

Good luck on your application. I sent mine to CIC-MISs end of last month.

Did you send your application to the PO box in CPC Mississauga? I was told that if you send to a PO box, DHL or FEDEX will not accept it cos they will need someone to sign for it. I am just about to send my application and quite confused as to how to send it. thanks for your reply and good luck.

Address for courier is...

Case Processing Cenrte Mississauga
2 Robert Speck Parkway
Suite 200
MISSISSAUGA,ON
L4Z1H8

Will the courier address sign for it?

Yes..You will know the name of person who signed on delivery.
BTW, I used FedEx for my application and it was delivered next day.

You are most welcome, I will keep my finger crossed for you guys.. :D

Hi nj123, we had a similar situation - we finally sent our application off 2 weeks ago. As we were sitting on the tram heading into the main post office, I asked my sponsor / boyfriend (common law partner) did you check the address? (he wrote the label). "Of course I did!" he replied.

So we posted the 1.5 kilo pack and headed home, glad to be finally done with it after 6 weeks of documents-collecting and stress.

No sooner had we got through the door than he made his way sneakily towards the PC while I made a cup of tea.

"Oh no! Oh no!" I heard him groaning from the living room.

I dashed back quickly.

"Oh no! Why didn't I listen to you?" he moaned. (I was so chuffed about him actually admitting that, that I nearly didn't hear what he said next)

"The PO box... it's 3000! I wrote 300!"

We leapt to our feet and were back in town faster than we'd ever got there before (with me laughing hysterically - it was either that or cry. The post office was closing in 10 minutes, and I couldn't believe this last-minute twist...)

Luckily we got the same guy immediately and he fetched the envelope from the sorting area so we could replace the label. "A few minutes later, and you'd have been too late!" he informed us.

The moral of the story - listen to your girlfriend / wife! Or, the moral my other half prefers: check the label before sending ;D

:)

Good story ;D. Luckily it's all sorted!

Good luck everyone. Keep us all posted on your success and travails....

Out of curiosity, for those who applied, are you planning to move to CA as soon as you get the PR?

Grrrr I just have to vent a little

I had to get police clearances from 5 countries (Australia, UK, Ukraine, Germany and Ireland). Two had to be sent direct by the police organisations concerned (Australia, UK).

The UK one was sent a few days before our application pack arrived in Mississauga, so Mississauga returned it to the UK police. The UK police immediately sent it again but it just arrived back in the UK, with a note from Mississauga saying there is no record of me (they received our pack a week ago, according to online postal tracking, so either there was a cross-over or they haven't logged the application yet).

The UK said they'll send it a third time, but now I'm worried that Mississauga will reject the whole application because it's incomplete at present (and the Australian one should have arrived there this week, I hope that won't be returned too, because it was a pain to get in the first place). The guideline for Australian certs state that it must be sent direct from the police to Mississauga, and the UK said this is also what needs to be done for the UK cert. So I'm surprised that there isn't some sort of 'holding file' for such certificates in Mississauga (I'm assuming this isn't the first time this has happened to someone).

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

ChristyandRob, that sounds extremely frustrating. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything arrives is Mississauga soon without being sent back.

We sent our application today by FedEx. It was 4 kilos and took forever to organize. So glad that that's over.

Now the waiting game begins! If there was an emoticon for anxiously tapping one's fingers I'd insert it here.

Good luck everyone!

HOPING to be part of this thread! :) Can you send the package from the US or does it have to be sent from Canada? Thanks :)

I don't know sbwv09, sorry.

I spoke too soon. Was looking for a paperclip last night and I noticed that my partner forgot to put the envelope with all of our cards and tickets in the package. When we finalized the package I reviewed each document and handed it to him for him to neatly stack in the courier box, and he put this envelope to the side under a pile of other documents instead of in the courier box. The incomplete package was FedExed yesterday. :o

After a 1 am call to FedEx and several more calls this morning, the courier package will be returned to Toronto on Monday so we can insert the missing documents and resend. So now we have a slightly delayed application and a very dismayed boyfriend who can't believe he messed up something so important. I can't believe it either, but what's done is done.

Oh man, that's bad news! I suppose you could have also forwarded the other information on to Mississauga later on, but it's probably better to keep everything together. It's so much to keep track of, I know!!
