Did anybody in the April Thread apply as conjugal partners?

Today we received our passport request from Buffalo! Finally :)
And Ecas still shows "in process"... but no surprise there, I guess.

Congrats and I hope you get your passport back with your visa in a timely fashion :D

My wife goes for her interview at the Beijing Embassy on Monday (Aug 23)...getting nervous and excited at the same time!

My wife got her Visa. I guess my immigration process days are now over! Good luck to everyone else still struggling with patience.

My husband's passport arrived today....IN CANADA. They sent it to Canada instead of Kosovo!! >:( Unbelievable...

No ecas updates for me today. :( Any Aprils have news?

Still nothing for me. I'm waiting patiently for the mail carrier...No e-cas change, no surprise there.. Good luck and congrats on the receiving passport/visas!

At least you got the passport, I hope that you can get it to your husband in a timely manner and that he will soon be with you.

Hang in there fellow April applicants, there are still people from February and March that still have not received anything...Keep your chins up. I'm secretly dying inside waiting, so let's keep up the positive attitudes, I know I need it!

:o

Wow this is really bizarre. I just received a letter from the LA Consulate asking me for a copy of my divorce decree from my previous marriage (pretty sure I already included that but whatever) and they also included a letter for me to forward on to my sponsor that states they're worried that he won't be able to fulfill his obligation to support me financially and they want him to send them a ton of financial information/paperwork.

What the hell?? My husband is a student and doesn't have a job but everything everywhere says that the financial things don't matter unless you have dependents. Everything I've read says that they don't care about financial stuff unless they have reason to think that the applicant is unable or unwilling to support themselves. I am fully capable of financially supporting both of us and plan to do so as soon as I can legally work. I have a lot of money in savings and so does my husband. I'm going to give them as much information as I can but I am really confused as to why they are asking for this ??? :-\ ???

Congratulations. That actually did not take very long, you know.

Our timeline is a week before you at every stage, yet we've still not received a PPR or anything other than an email confirming they've received the medicals :(

Update: Received Passport Request via email this morning. (yay!) We've been In Process in Buffalo since June 7.

Good luck to all the Aprils out there!

My husband recieved his passport request via email this morning.

What a exciting day. :) ;D :) ;D He's off getting photos done and sending in passport now.

It's almost over. It's been a long 4 months. Planning on landing in early October.

Good luck to all who are still waiting.

Congrats Journeyman. I know we were both kind of following eachother's timelines. I am desperately trying (and failing, might I add) to not be jealous of you right now!!!!! :P
Good luck on your future life in Canada :)

What the heck. I thought LA was supposed to help EXPEDITE my application???? :'(
/pity party
:D
Seriously, though, I am so freaking confused as to why they are asking for this now. It's completely irrelevant to the immigration application. The sponsorship was approved. We have no dependants... seriously.. why?

Thanks giggles. You deserve a pity party, don't feel bad. After reading what was going on with you, I (almost) felt guilty posting the good news. I hope you get your issues all sorted out. I'm sending you positive vibes ;). Good luck and take care

Thank you friend :)

Good luck giggles! I'm praying hard for you. I'm sorry you're going through so much trouble. It will all be worth it once you can finally go. :)

Cheer up!
