Since ND asked you to re-do the medicals it makes sense for the DMP to send them the results directly as you would have had a file # when you took it.

Reg what the DMP told you, yes i think it was norms as the DMP can always contact applicants and let them know if they have a medical issue.

Regular mate..they have asked you to do medicals again, so you are good and waiting for your visa..
You will get the visa very soon..i don see any complications man..

Nah the doctor's statement that he would contact me if there was anything :S i am really bothered by that statement.

You should update my status....the letter for PPR was dated April.18....but he recieved it on april.29 and was recieved at new delhi on May.2....been one week so far..lets hope for the best

A new DMP will always tell you this AS LISTED in their manual..all is well, trust me.

Hey dont worry abt what the doc said. it is very routine. The DMP said the same to me too and she was the same one i have always gone to for medicals. In fact the first time i had my medicals done 4 years ago, they called me back 2 days later and asked me to come to the clinic, i was very paranoid, but the DMP said that because i had tattoos, i have to do an additional ELISA test. I am very certain that ur DMP was just saying things from the rule book and is very routine like what fprince said. you have nothing to worry about.

The doctor said that because it was written in the manual to inform the applicant that DMP can call you again. He said that because it is written in the manual not that something is wrong in the test.

I think you are all set to get your visa within 2 weeks. I am saying 2 weeks because the medicals are first sent to Ottawa.

Thanks everyone for the wishes, it was a great day yesterday, in fact the best day of the year

To be honest, I did not expect ND to approve us this fast, especially after the dragging they did earlier with our PPR. This was such a nice surprise.

I've now got the tickets booked too. I'm so glad the deals are still on for end May and the price hasn't skyrocketed, although the one way for my wife is a little expensive as we are returning in early June. But still, overall I paid the same amount altogether that I would have had to pay just for myself had I gone in July

Now I hope my wife gets the Passport back with visa soon, before I get on that plane to India.

Yeah Buddy, she sent it sat and should be in ND on Monday..430 INR was the charge for blue dart next day...
hmmm INR 5..yup they saved it and sent me an email ... they are technologically advanced these days bud

Hope they process your's as quick or even quicker than they did for me dude, your wait is insane.

The PR process is a tough one and it's good that you guys now will be together. It's really a happy ocassion.

You will get the ppt back well before may end. You can never trust Indian post with the dates, but, not getting the ppt back before may end is really a fat-tail (one-in-one million probability) event . All the best for your India trip.

Can I please ask any of you to tell me or guesstimate how much time till my spouse might get a PPR letter ...? When does the BC (Background Check) actually happen ?

I have no idea how you guys toughed it out with your spouses - it's been 6 months since I've seen her.. but thank goodness that this is a once in a life time thing !!

I know it is very hard man, but I guess we all need to wait through this. It is painful, but no other way around it. Now that our's is finally done, it is such a relief I just can't wait to meet my wife again over the long weekend and I hope everyone that is waiting for their wife/husband gets through this really quickly.

I think you will get your PPR this week, or next week at the latest.

Just came back from the medical test.. They never gave me anything to send to New Delhi & said as this is IMM1017 form there ain't any proof that applicant has to send and the medical test report would be directly mailed to CHC.

Secondly the DMP was blunt & rude not like the one i visited the last time (who is not on DMP list anymore) and after my physical check up stated that he would contact me if he finds any discrepancies in the report... was this statement of his normal & accordance with the rules ?

Yup, for your second medical, you should not need anything from the DMP. They will send everything directly to CHC.

As for what he told you, that is pretty standard. They told the same to my wife as well. No worries there. If there was something wrong, they would have called you by now to come in for additional tests. They don't conclude anything negative with just one test.

Sorry all for the delay. It has been a crazy past couple of weeks between the immigration process, work, volunteer work, and family stuff.

So here is the saga:
The high commission finally returned my husband's email stating the time and place of his interview and that if he didn't get the letter to print off the email and bring it with him to the interview. Which he never received, so if this happens to you be pro-active. Btw, I did a case enquiry and sent a fax to the ND and they did respond to this.

He went to the interview and he said there were a lot of people waiting for an interview as well. He had to wait over an hour past his scheduled interview time.

His interview lasted ~ 10 minutes. They asked basic questions about me. eg Where do I work? For how long? My job before? What I do? They also asked why we didn't get married a long time ago. And they asked something about why I married him, weird? At the end of the interview, they gave him back the pictures I submitted in the application and told him he would receive his passport in the mail.

They never called me.

I checked ecas yesterday and it said under Perm Res: In process, and it finally had more info like medical results received.

Oh and intermittantly since May 4, ecas would show his address and then it would dissapear over and over again.

And today this is what ecas says:
We received your application for permanent residence on March 14, 2011.
We started processing your application on May 4, 2011.
Medical results have been received.
Interview scheduled for May 4, 2011.
A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

I am not going to make any presumptions about the decision. I will wait till my husband tells me he has received his passport and what the decision is.
