Thanks for the good wishes, and at work we have this "aunty" she is punjabi, and she told me randomly that end of May you will have something, so I told her "tumhare mooh mein rasgulle" instead of the very common phrase "tumhare mooh mein ghi aur sakar"

I really can't wait, I'm already checking the air ticket websites to plan rough dates, so far June 12 / 16 seems like a great option.

Hello all,

After spending 3 months preparing my application and 30+ calls to CIC Call Center, I'm happy to announce that we have got the passport back with visa today!

Here are our timelines:

Appl submitted to CPC-Mississauga: 1/31/2011
Sponsor Approval: 2/25/2011
Appl received at CHC-Delhi: 3/7/2011
PPR Date: 3/18/2011
eCAS changed to 'In Process': 3/30/2011
Visa Issue Date: 4/4/2011
eCAS changed to 'Decision Made': 4/9/2011


I will stay on this forum to help others. I wish everyone a speedy visa by ND

Acceptance letter - Nov 23, 2010
PPR- Dec 7, 2010
PP sent - Dec 21, 2010
ECAS - In Process on Jan 21, 2010

Nothing since then ...
Any thoughts??

Keep positive..i already mentioned i have seen some rare cases where the passport was in Delhi for more than 3 months, you will def get it..why maybe even this week you can see a ecas update, any minute
I am a bit different though, ND didnt wanna waste INR 1 to send a PPR yet :'( cheap ba$tards.
You can expect your ecas to change any day...just be positive...

82 days for me today and no PPR yet (or anything else for that matter), e-CAS still stuck with "application received". No idea what the hell is going on. ND hasn't responded back to the email I sent on Apr 1. Sent off my request for CAIPS notes today, at least I will have something in my hands in 4-5 weeks that might provide some clue...should come in handy if nothing changes in my file by then.

I've been waiting 50 days now, since Feb 22,2011.

No call for an interview, it could all be over in about 30 days.
Get called for an interview -- crap -- its going to take a little longer.

Praying for a visa in the next 30 days.

But it starting to feel like Christmas, it just around the corner.
It could be anyday, so I'm check 3-4 times a day on ecas.

Realistically --> average 69 days, so 2-3 more weeks.

just wondering, is there any rule(s) for bringing jewellery from India to Canada? Thanks in advance for all help....Regards..V

my understanding is that the jewellery has to appraised in india and the jeweller must provide you a receipt....


after the spouse is done with the landing process....he/she goes to the baggage claim area and then diected to the "declaration" area.....if asked....u can present the jeweller receipt there...

chc nd does not notify whether they have recived the pp or no....the only source to confirm that is the courier company or their tracking number which can be checked via their web site...

So you need to fill out a B4, you can find it on the CSBA website, you declare all your goods. Gagan is right, jewllery is suppose to be appraised and always better that it includes a photo.

You may be asked to collect your bags while you are still landing as they can refer you to secondary for a search before you complete the landing. Give your B4, ppt and COPR to the immigration officer and they will help you.

I filled out my husband's before he left, he told me all the stuff he had packed and I wrote it down. You need to also know the approximate CDN value of everything. This includes jewellery, laptops, clothing, linens ect ect.

Congratulations, timelines are ditto with mine but I havent received anything from the CHC, I received the PPR on the 26th March although the letter was dated 18 March, passort reached them on the 28 March, in process since 30 March but nothing as of yet,should I be worried that it will be delayed

@DrDave your inputs will be highly appreciated, I am very worried as my complete family is away from me I am all alone in Canada any time lines would be appreciated.The timelines are exactly same as with @nb8285
