Null in Name
Someone asked about NULL in their name when they checked ecas. here is copy paste of what i wrote few months ago.
You will see NULL as your first name (online) if, your passport has a blank in Surname. Eg assume in the given name your name is Amy Kaur and surname is blank. On your immigration papers, your first name will become last name as you cannot have a blank last name, ie "Amy Kaur" will be your last name and the first name field will be empty.
Will this create complications? No, however it will create some nuances. When you get your PR card, since PR card cannot have a blank first name, it will take your last name from your immigration visa "Amy Kaur" and your first name will be "Amy" so it will appear as Amy Kaur, Amy.
Your social insurance number will have "Amy Kaur" as your last name.
Health care card based on your province might have "Amy Kaur" or Kaur as your last name or your husband's last name if that's what you want to take on. they are flexible that way cause spouse is being added on to the existing health care of the sponsor.
Now to clean up this mess, based on your province you can do a name change, in some provinces you will need to wait a year. However this mess won't cause any issues from getting healthcare services or working at your job. My wife and my buddy's wife are living through this experience but we didn't encounter any problems (other than extra fees you'll have to pay). Each respective agencies knows about this nuance as in India Given name is mandatory not the Surname, found all this through experience
Hope this helps
