Hi,

I'm sponsoring my Nigerian spouse, and the application was recently transferred to the Accra Visa office. Our application was received in January of this year. Medical and Biometrics have already been done, and all fees have been paid.

Earlier this month we received notification that the file has been transferred to AVO. Does anyone know on average how long the Accra Visa Office takes to do their part? Also, since medical and biometrics have already been done, what does the local visa office do?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.
When did you get the medical request and where was it done? Normally they transfer files to Accra after SA and Biometrics. Accra issues medicals around 6 months from the application date and ppr after medicals can be anything from 1 month to more than 6 months depending on the complexity of the case.

Medical request was back in March and it was completed the next day. Biometrics was completed in June. Both Medical and Biometrics were done in the US.

However, we received notification of the file transfer to Ghana earlier this month.

You will get ppr soon. Your application is at it's final stage. I guess the principal applicant is a US resident that's why it was partly processed in Canada before transfer to Accra.

We are in a similar position. My spouse application was submitted on April 18th. He is based in Denmark and has already completed and passed both medical and biometrics. His file was transferred to Accra August 1 and on ECAS we can see that they started processing it on August 16th. So we are hoping for DM soon.

From my experience with the Federal Skilled Worker(FSW) Immigration stream, your PPR should be out soon. I got PPR 6 days after RPRF was requested (uploaded RPRF payment receipt 6th Dec, got PPR 12th Dec). IMO, all required checks on your application has been done, the RPRF and Biometrics are the only outstanding, plus some December applicants (even January and February) have gotten PPR already.

Happy for you, your wait is almost over.

I think you can raise a CSE and find out from them or call their office to speak to an agent. Anyways can you share your timeline and were you asked to pay RPRF along the line.

If you are not really in haste to have it back, it will be automatically sent back to the sponsor. But if you need them back ASAP you can call to request for them.

If you don’t mind could you pls cover up ur important info on it and share it on here... if you don’t mind.

They just said for them to continue processing my application, they need me to complete my biometrics and pay my RPRF. That's all. I don't even know what that means to my application
