That may be true, not sure. But in our case, we received ppr on 7th Nov, got medicals done almost immediately and sent the passport away on 13th. We were given 15 days to act, and today, 22nd Nov, we received pick up mail.
Doing the math, we got pick up mail exactly 15 days after passport request.
Now, things may vary for everyone. Our case alone isn't enough to draw a conclusion. All the best!

I'm just wondering about what happens when AVO gives you 30 days to submit documents. The letter implied that they would only look into your file again after 30 days irrespective of whether you submit all the documents before then or not. Has anyone had any contrary experience?

Just to add to what just put out here. I got a letter on 6th june to bring additional documents. By july 1 all documents had been submitted. It took me almost 4months to get another letter this time asking for dna test. I am told dna also takes additional 3 or 4 months. It is over a month now i was asked to go for the dna. I just paid the lab on last monday from Laval QC. An amount of $875cdn. No appointment date for sample collection. So i am expecting my application to travel to 2yrs. I applied in 2016 july 21. So dont expect response so soon although every case is different.

During my permanent residence application, I was given 30days to submit additional documents, and they got back to me by the 15th day thereabout. By the end of the supposed 30days, I had my visa ready.

However, things have changed with AVO, and I honestly don't understand their trend.

The only thing delaying them on getting back to you might be the police clearance, which I presume you will get soon.

It's hard to be still, but you are closer than you think.

You will hear from them soon, we know that they are doing something, but they can be faster and communicate more with applicants, rather than the deafening silence.

Thank you. The last document I need to submit is the Texas state police clearNCE. I was hoping they would be done with it today and AVO would get it by Monday but I called in today and they said they were closing early by 12 noon and wont be back till Monday (American thanksgiving weekend). I am just hoping AVO would be kind enough to send PPR before the 30 days is up since I have already sent them my FBI report. Thanks a lot, its encouraging to know they can attempt to reply before the time is up.

@Kuako, I don't think you need to do anything it takes between 3 to 5 weeks to get your passport back and you are only 12 days into the waiting game so relax while waiting and also remember those waiting for passport request in your prayers.

DHL office in Nigeria refused to send my Passport to VOA with a prepaid return envelope attached to it, rather they said a pick up email will be sent to me from VOA as at when my Passport is ready for pickup, then i have to print out the pickup letter and bring it to DHL office to order for the pickup of my Passport from VOA.

Please any info on how it works from Nigeria ?

Same. DHL doesn't sell prepaid envelopes.

Thank you @ Ugoswife!
Does it mean i did the right thing by following DHL courier directives?
Yes, you'll take your pick up mail and an authorization letter to them and they'll arrange for their branch in Accra to pick up your passport.

Not all their branches accept the prepaid return envelop. I made enquiries earlier this morning at one of their branches and they told me only the head office in Accra accept the prepaid return envelop. The rest of their offices only accept to send it but they don't do the prepaid return pick up. So if you're in Nigeria, maybe you should look for the head office
