Wow. 35 days to issue a visa? They are probably still “working” on your file. That’s crazy. I pray you hear back this week.

Visa is issued already, waiting for pick-up mail. Mycic says approved with counterfoil and ecas decision made. So waiting for pick-up mail.

Hello house, my blood pressure is getting pretty high with the AVO.My friend from the restaurant I usually eat is also sponsoring his wife from NDVO and would you believe his wife got passport request on Friday they applied in March 2017. So what the hell the AVO doing that they haven't even finish 2016 applicants.

I just logged into the NDVO forum to investigate and I see that even May 2017 applicants have their background in progress so what is up with the AVO unbelievable.

exactly @bbccanada, I hit that point last week when I peaked into the other forums as well. What is it they do differently than we do? Their offices hire locally engaged staff just like ours does. They have similar inefficiencies in their country's organization, infrastructure and government that we do. So how can they process so much faster than Accra? Population wise, I suspect they may be processing the same volume as Accra is.

I've been a silent follower here (like a lot of others). Apparently AVO is also responsible for issuing visas for Express Entry applicants from Nigeria. I just found out this week that a friend of mine who applied using the express entry system, just 3 months ago, is waiting for his passport (PUM) from Accra. Note to future applicants, use express entry and not spousal sponsorship if you can help it.

I ordered one they quoted 31 days and they are also extremely busy if you don' recurve it in 31 days you are to contact them. seems everything is on backlog yet they won't hire more staff
Yes that's what they say however my notes even passed the due date I had to send an inquiry

how did you send an inquiry @queenantor? I emailed them last week and still no response. Makes me wonder if they have a procedure not to send the notes when one is in PPR (remedical/ police clearance) stage?

yes, that's the email I sent to . Mind you I didn't put my reference number in the subject line as it was in the body of their confirmation email. I will try again with it in the subject line and see. Thanks

Hi everyone. Just a quick update. My husband finally got here on saturday. It was a year jerking moment at the airport as he got to hold his 16month old baby for the first time( they are attached to each other, as if They've known each other all along). He says the whole process with the immigration officers went very smooth. In fact he was through with the whole thing in less than 10mins. I am very thankful to God and each and everyone who made this journey less stressful. I can't mention names because I don't want to leave anyone out. You guys rock. You are all amazing. I will be a frequent participant on this thread should anyone have questions. Thank you all so much. Hang in if you are still waiting. There is sunshine after the rain...
