@ooao applied on August 10th 2016 and got their re medical request on August 8th this past week.
OK that's good news.
I applied on August 16th 2016 and no medical request yet.

I believe we as August apps will hear soon. I hope. We too have had no re medical request, ours expired at the end of May.
Honestly I'm looking forward to this medical request, maybe from next week.

Happy for you, that is really good but you are 2017 applicant? it doesn't really work like that for us that are 2016.

You are right, I kept my maiden name as well until the application is over. That way they will not be adding extra processing time to something that is already long enough. I will have the last name forever ,so what is the rush...

Yes, that's what I was driving at @Sugarcoconut. We don't know what this already slow AVO will do to your timeline should you choose the change something as fundamental as your last name. By all means change your passport if you need to, but no need to change the name until you are settled.

After sending passport, how long does CIC take to stamp the PR visa?

Wow that was fast for you. Most of us the 2016 applicants are still awaiting medical request.
