Got the refusal letter today,, the officer said he's not satisfied that me and my partner completed the one year cohabition.. I applied common law..that was the only reason reason i was refused it...I have decided not to appeal. My partner is coming and we are getting married so I will reapply under spousal sponsorship this time..
Thanks to everyone for their contributions from the very start.. The money, time, and separation is my only problem but the good lord will see me and everyone going through this through

Thats a really good idea

The lord is your strength

Hi, DHL informed us that they no longer accept pre-paid envelopes and we only sent the passport without the return courier - did AVO let you know when to pick up the passport when the visa was ready to send?

That is what I was personally told at the DHL office so we will have to wait and see. They said they do not send prepaid envelopes anymore. They pick it up so that it can be tracked back and you can come and pick it up at their office.

This is the process in Nigeria. It might be a different story for Ghanian applicants.

Hi, DHL informed us that they no longer accept pre-paid envelopes in Lagos and we only sent the passport without the return courier - did AVO let you know when to pick up the passport when the visa was ready to send?

Yes AVO will contact you to let you know passport is ready to be picked up. Then you will go at DHL pay the corresponding amount and then they will send their agent at AVO to pick it up and do the necessary mailing.

Congratulations! Wishing your family all the best. Can't wait to make this post for myself.

Congrats gapoha!

And let us all keep in our thoughts and prayers those being discriminated against and forced from their homes by the recent orders in the US. May we all stand together in solidarity against their persecution and blatant racism that is driving policy.

For me I think the officer wanted to have more personal informations between you and your wife. Because from what you sent your friend wrote a letter from your wife village head from the women in church... those are outsiders of your relationship more personal or intimate proofs like text messages, emails, call logs, bday valentines gifts, if you send money to your wife ( the receipts) etc etc etc that is what I see other people send. I hope you understand my point of view.
Courage with the next step and take your time to gather enough proofs so they wount have any doubt...
God knows best

Have you received your passport yet?

Hello everyone, I live in Calgary, Canada and I filed for my husband on Nov. They wrote me back on Dec 2nd saying that I qualify as a sponsor and that my file is forwarded to Accra for further processing. Does anyone know the next step from here? Also I used a representative (lawyer) will this make my case faster? And does anyone know which files they are processing now, as in have they started processing Nov files?
