A big thank you to everyone on here. I am so happy I discovered this forum months ago, and appreciate all of the support and advice given since I have been active here. For those waiting, stay positive, keep your head up, and maintain faith that your time is coming. When it does, that high will be worth every low. May the good news continue this week.

Congrats

First let me say congratulations to everyone that received PR cards. ....However, I have a question my husband application is saying in process.. He did medical upfront but, it's not showing if they receive it. He did it in March when his file was transferred to Accra ...anyone experience this?

I think it's still early. ..it could be they haven't updated it yet...give them another month

Hello everyone so happy to have found this forum.please i want to ask a quick one. is it an offense for one to travel out of Canada while application process is on?

Welcome :)

Absolutely not, I traveled to Ghana about a month after our application was submitted and spent 6 months there lol.

Yes, I am a Canadian citizen. Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear about the question. To clarify, I am Canadian, and sponsored my husband, who is Ghanaian.

It can't hurt to try, but from my understanding they can be difficult to obtain. You need to do a lot to prove strong ties to your home country to convince the visa officers that you will return once your visitor visa is expired (ie. job, land/property ownership, etc.).

The current processing time based on what we've seen through this forum appears to be about 9 months. Having to redo the medical and requests for additional documents can extend this, however. My husband and I submitted our application in June of 2015 and received PPR this past week, but I had missed submitting one document. After receiving their request in March for it and sending it to AVO via email, it took a month to hear back from them again.

I believe from the time application was filed. I also believe based on timelines on this thread that AVO is working with average timeline of 9 months....and it could be less. I'm so jealous to see Jan-Feb 2016 applicants from Ottawa getting PPR already, if only it was the same everywhere :(
Let's believe that our time will come soon too.
