AfricanBoy,

Your file was transferred in early september and it was in process, so you should hear something very soon..

Gamer as well..Accra seems to be moving at last.

And hopefully itsmytime hears good news too, she already sent her stuff in so they should get back to her soon..we are all praying for NKT as well.

Lamour, you should get SA this month!

Hi guys,

Opester, so good to hear about your application. One question though, our file was transferred much earlier than yours i believe. Our file was sent to Ghana on September 15. Did your husband send the Residence Permit Amount of $490 with your file? We paid in January so that might have caused a delay in our file.

Looking at her old comments, the answer is no. We suggested to pay it and she did some time in Feb..I would say mid Feb.

But don't worry, every application is different and it could be your background check needed more time maybe because you lived in different countries? also every officer has their own pace. But rest assured, your file is open and will have a decision soon.

Do you want to know the most interesting thing? I actually didn't pay the RPRF as I had earlier planned. When hubby got his PPR there was a section in red saying I make the payment immediately and I did that the next day and sent an email as well as sent a soft copy to hubby to print and send in with his passport. So I don't think that is a factor.

I think the main thing might be the officer handling the files. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

Gamer, you should hear something soon though.

Wow....

Anyway, one more thing, do they go by surnames or they just pick a file and start working on it? It's frustrating if you ask me.

I totally understand what you mean. I honestly think that files are assigned probably based on location and also on when it was received. We are aware that Accra processes PR for several countries.

Just be patient. I also think that the processing is dependent on individual circumstances. For instance when I met my hubby, we courted for a year in the same country, got married and lived together for 2 years before I moved back to Canada and applied for him.

You shall hear good news soon that for sure. That is my prayer for you.

No one is really sure how they process them but I assume first come first serve.

Having said that, some applications may take longer due to background checks/relationship proof/dependents etc.

We are all much closer than 2 months ago :)

Finally an update on my status online..after months of Application Received, a line was finally added today to say.

Medical has been received!

My notes showed they were received ages ago (November) but they just updated the online status.

Progress haha

Nice! congrats, historically with Accra, when they say in process, it means it's almost done. So Opester's file wasn't in process for 3 days, it was in process way before that but the officers over there only update the online status at the end.

Great to see movement, so now all files that Accra got in September are in process..great news!
