Avo no go kill me after PPR and police clearance etc .I checked Gckey and it says background in progress ,last week it said not applicable all I can do is laugh so I don't send off an angry email .e no easy o na wa. Avo Don suffer me
I'm wondering if the "not applicable" means that the Police Clearance they have has expired and is thus no longer applicable. Mine says the same. I'll see if it toggles to "in progress" after we submit the clearance.

I’m guessing my husband and I have to wait for his FBI certificate comes in before Accra will do anything again ..
yeah, I suspect so. Does your background check say "not applicable" too?

HEllo everyone. Im mostly a silent observer here maybe cos i have nothing to offer much. The waiting game is killing. I rewuested for my gcms notes early oct and it came in today. To say the least i cant decipher all thats written in there but i see criminality and security as NOT STARTED and medical as IN PROGRESS. This is major disheartneing for me cos i submitted my papers on jan 3rd and same was received on the 13th and sent to accra. We used the old forms and method tho as id done my medicals and police clearance since oct 2016 and to see that its in progess breaks my heart. I mean people who submitted in april have gotten medical request and even passed. Everyday i check my mails ceremoniously waiting for a miracle and sometimes i feel ive been forgotten, was waiting for the gcms notes as i intend sending a mail to the minister and pm and whoever i can. Its about time o made noise. Its 11months now and if medicals is still in progress, den what hope do i have. Sorry for the long rant but im so upset tonight.
@olawunmif there's a whole thread on how to decipher the gcms notes. the agents speak in code. e.g. when the one in Canada sends your file and sets certain fields to "not started" it means they did a quick check in candada and found no issues: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now.390292/ .

It is an old thread so you have to tease through whether some of the fields or processes have changed.

happy reading:)

The wait is freaking crazy .. we have being waiting now for 14 month and more . My hubbys FBI certificate is going to take 12weeks .. not even sure what will happen to my hubby Application now .. coz they promise to finalize all 2016 applicator before the end of this year
Man! 12 weeks in addition to their turnaround time for PUM? I pray that it comes before the 12 weeks. We've been waiting for my hubby's from his country of residence for almost 6 weeks now. We ordered it before we got PPR hoping it would be here by the time PPR came, but still no luck..

No it says
Your application is in progress
Don’t no why
because as @Ugoswife mentioned, it says "not applicable" for some of us. So I was wondering if it says that if your Police clearance has expired and you have been asked to submit a new one.

I think it changes when they have something to tell you about your application whether approved or extra docs etc. That's the trend I've notices anyway. I just feel like they either have a backlog on emails or the person who is responsible for sending those correspondence isn't on seat that's why even @tender hasn't gotten PUM.
because as @Ugoswife mentioned, it says "not applicable" for some of us. So I was wondering if it says that if your Police clearance has expired and you have been asked to submit a new one.

He surely needs FBI Clearance from the US. That is what CIC requires.

I have been away for quite some and bumping back into the group and seeing the frustration here and I was forced to write to the immigration minister with tears in my eyes. Here is a copy of the email:
Dear sir,
Attn: Minister Of Immigration.

I am writing in respect of the application to sponsor my dear husband under the family class/spousal sponsorship immigration program. My application was received on the 25th of January 2017 at CPC Mississauga. File was approved and transferred on the 16th of March 2017 to the respective visa office closest to my husband's location in these case, Accra visa office. It has been graveyard silence ever since then. I sent enquiries every now and then plus requesting my husband's Notes on July 5th and received same on August 3rd and still nothing started at Accra apart from medical passed. That situation has lingered on up until this moment with totally no new update at our online account.

With respect to these findings, I'm forced to question myself if at all I'm ever going to be with my husband here in Canada with the snail pace at Accra visa office? Looking at online forums where Applicants being attended to at other visa offices around the world breaks my heart's completely. While Accra is still battling with application filed in September 2016, places like New Dehli visa office is working on March 2017 applicants and Manila visa office are already treating April 2017 applications and that is just a few. With these developments, I ask myself yet again. Is this a deliberate action by those in authority to undermine and slow down applications at Accra visa for whatever reasons best known to them?

Nevertheless, I beg earnestly for you to use your good conscience and office to facilitate a much needed change at Accra visa office. Where the workload need to be shed to other visa offices with less load, same need to be done. The stress and strain on spouses is so enormous. Irrespective of religious or social inclination, it is a well known precept that married couples should not stay apart for far too long a time and I believe that is why family or spousal sponsorship is given a priority by the Canadian government.

Of particular note is that, on the 26th of November 2017 will clock exactly one year of tying the knot with my heartrobe. I still believe in miracle, if only you, Accra and the government of Canada can make it happen. No other gift apart from the gift of life will ever be compared with celebrating my ONE year wedding anniversary in person with my husband.
My husband's medical will be expiring on the 5th of December 2017, another appeal for prompt attention before it expires to save us the stress and cost of doing another one.
Me, my family and every other family held up at Accra visa office look forward to an accelerated process as we earnestly seek your reasurrance either in actions or words. Hoping this message reaches you in good faith.

Kind regards
