Quick question. Hubby was asked to submit police clearance certificate for each country he has resided in since age 18. He schooled in the UK. Came back in 2012 and hasn’t been back since then. We submitted original police clearance from UK upfront with our application. My question is, can we resubmit the same one we submitted initially since he hasn’t been back in the UK anyway? We were given 2 weeks to submit passport and we can’t get police clearance before that time is up. I remember someone on the forum saying they just resubmitted the same one when submitting passport but I cannot remember who it was. Thanks for your help.
You can. CIC instructions usually specify that you can submit a police report gotten after the last time you lived in the country. You can submit that and attach a little explanation about it. BTW, did they ask you to submit original copies of the police reports?

This is what they they said...

Ø Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate Updated NIgerian police clearnace

We intend to redo the Nigerian police clearance since he has been in Nigeria but I don’t know if we can get away with just sending a photocopy for UK since we submitted the original initially..

What if you provide the photo copy of the UK one, and a note about it as well as file for a new one and show proof that you did. Is it expensive?

yes you can. My wife lived in the UK for a very long time before leaving and hasnt returned since. we used the same police report that we already got after she left and resent it again when they asked for it.
If for instance she went back and lived in the UK for a while after we got that police report then we would have been required to submit another. But since she hasnt returned yet, then she used that and it was accepted.

I believe this should be ok as well, however I will suggest writing a letter to inform them that the spouse( or applicant) has not returned back since the last police report was issued and you already included this when the application was submitted.

Did your wife submit a photocopy of the report or the original one? If someone alrady submitted the original copy with the application Im wondering if a photocpy of the same report would be accepted later.

Seems like they are specifically asking for the Nigerian police report but you should definitely send both.

Yeah I will provide a photocopy. Well, it isn’t cheap. We paid $82 the last time. I’ll probably skip out on reapplying and just re-submit the old one.

@ClassicD @Ugoswife Thanks, guys. I’ll go with the option of submitting the old UK clearance and provide new clearance for Nigeria.
Yes, but I will recommend that you type a short letter to explain to AVO then you have already sent the original copy of the UK police report and you are sending a copy to them again.
Keep in mind that they do have the original copy you sent, however the idea of asking again is to check if the applicant has travelled to or lived in UK since the spousal application was submitted or after the last UK police report was obtained. All this is what they gather for the final background check and once that is passed amongst other things to check, they approve the application

In my case, we got the UK police report after I had original submitted, but that was over a year ago.

Hello,

The police clearance is only valid for 1 year, if its past 1 year you will need to apply for a new one. but since he hasn't visited since the last time you submitted the last police report you can re-summit the old one.

Ours was the opposite, my hubby hasn't been to Nigeria since he summit the last police clearance for nail,so we summited the old naive police clearance. But since he leaves in the UK, we had to a new uk police clearance. Also we were giving two weeks to summit it all. we applied for the uk clearance and then rented to the confirmation page and attached it with the passport along with a cover page explaining to them that the due to the short time Frame the police clearance will be mailed separately to cic Ghana when its ready.( one mistake we made us ,it was possible for UK police to mail the police clearance directly to Ghana as long as you include your file number reference it, we didn't know that ).
But In your case I believe you can use the same police clearance.

I submitted my application last year july 18. Still nothing. On 6th june 2017 i got an email to submit vCard additional documents and that was the end. I have sending emails but no replies. I got only one reply that it was closed in a queue waiting for review. The 16 months are over and don't know what to do.
