Welcome
@Sugarcoconut !!!!
Would it be possible when you have a spare moment to let us know how the landing process went? I plan on travelling with my husband to Canada in January but I'm curious to know how the process works for him. Many thanks!
Thanks
@becos.
OK this was how it went down. I followed the queue for Non citizens/others. Met the immigration officer and handed him over my passport, Confirmation of PR forms (CIC attaches 2 copies of it when returning ur passport) and the declaration form (was given this one in the flight). On the declaration forms I indicated I had foodstuffs so he asked me what kind and I told him. He scribbled something on it with pink markers (had other colors there) and gave me back all my documents, then he showed me the way.
I walked down a little and met a lady standing by the way. She halted everyone to look at the declaration card and apparently the scribble/ color of marker used indicated am new immmigrant so I was channeled to the right. It was another immigration stand. The nice young man I met took all my documents, asked me to confirm if my address is same as my husbands cos it’s written on the confirmation paper. I said yes. He asked my final destination and what time my connecting flight was, I told him and he said ok I had enough time. He then told me to sit while he processed my papers and that it will take about 5 mins.
He called me after about that time and showed me where to sign and that was it. Took one of the forms and gave me a copy. He told me welcome to Canada and enjoy ur stay. All these took not more than 10mins.
I now went to pick my luggages and on my way out I handed over that declaration form to I believe a custom officer sitting by the way.
I’ll say it’s a pretty much easy process.
