My wife is in Canada and am in Ghana so I think,it will be the Accra visa office and how long will it take for me to hear from them?

Welcome to the house.

I've been waiting almost a year to hear from them. They are at the slowest processing time ever and have not processed August or September applications from last year. This is a long and frustrating process. Unfortunately you are in for a very long wait. We applied August 23 last year, for our file transferred on September 27th 2016 and we have not heard from them since.

My wife is in Canada and I'm in Ghana so I guess it's the AVO may I know how long that will take and when do I expect to hear from them?cos my status online still says, in process

Hey... I have one that I kinda made. I can fix it up to make a working copy. It has all spousal applications timelines from this forum since 2014. That's how I know what the processing time is, and that it's at it's slowest.

very good, please update and share link when ready. thanks.
do you know if there are Oct, Nov and Dec applicants?
I know of August and Sept, I've not seen for these other months.

That's why the spreadsheet is good. so that we can know if after they have answered Aug and Sept, then it will be those of us that applied this year that would be next

I'm saying that don't expect to hear from your visa office for at least six months. This process is first in first out, which means applications are processed in order in which they applied. I applied in August last year so I am up next to be processed, and September, October and so on. If you applied in a April 2017, you have many more months to wait before you hear anything from them.

I'll get it ready and share soon. Yes there are Oct, Nov apps, I haven't been adding any recent people just because for me I'm more concerned about people before and just after August. I can tell you that tender is the only person in august who has been contacted and no one who applied after her have heard anything.

Don't forget everyone is not on this forum. There are a whole lot of Oct,Nov etc applicants that are not aware here even exist and will still be treated. This forum gives a kinda idea on where they are but definitely does not give a 100% guarantee how things are done in Accra.

Am Nov applicant by the way.

Of course I'm very much aware. I was referring to those that are here. if they share updates so that we know how it is moving.
I'm sure at least one applicant from each month is here. so if they can update us, then we know what month they are working on at any given time.
I understand nothing is as it seems or guaranteed, but having an idea wont be bad either

Ok but I thought u fall under the old system whiles I fall under thee new system so those that mean, I'm gonna be treated as such?

I saw on another forum recently that spouses (Principal Applicants) who are wives are processed faster and more likely to get visas than spouses who are husbands. I wonder if there really is a trend with that.
I believe this to be true from stories I've heard

I don't even think AVO will follow the new law...

No one can really say, we only have assumptions and wishes.
From CIC Website, and using other VOs as case study, the two classes should be treated differently, however It is AVO, the decision lies with them.
However, you getting a reply from them to do medical looks like a good sign on your application, let's keep fingers crossed, as events unfold, we would understand better.
