Hello everyone, have been an avid follower of this forum and i want to say a big thumbs to all if your inputs and efforts especially to Mandie.I filled my application on 16th of Feb 2016,and it was sent to Accra 30th of march.

That's like a week after mandie'e application. Mine is also family class,my Husband is a Nigerian but has Canadian citizenship.Sometimes towards the end of June my husband fell I'll and He wanted me to be by his bedside. He wrote a letter to his Mp who copied the minister of immigration but Accra said they weren't done with their checks.
On Thursday the 25th I received a call from Accra visa office, and a sort of interview was conducted on the phone where they asked me some very important questions about my Husband and previous marriage. Overall, the lady who spoke to me was very nice and I guess I answered her questions very well.
Please house,what do you guys think?Am I close to getting PPR?My husband is still not feeling too good and am beside myself with worry as He lives alone and all by himself.Would be very grateful for your contributions on what you think.Thanks!!!!

Sorry guys I keep sending my comments differently and not at once.its my own previous marriage I was asked about,as my husband is a widower.They asked of what happened and I answered, then when it failed and if I had kids with my ex.

well with everything you have said,i believe you close to your PPR and dont think you will be called in for a personal interview but visa officers can be very nice but same time,they may make you feel or believe what you have said but on your file,its a different thing they think of your answers to their question.Just add prayers and i believe God will listen to you sooner then expected.GOODLUCK TO YOU

The call you received is part of your background check, as far the information you provided them did not contradict your file then you're good and closer to your ppr.

@Oki, I agree with Jay and Aroms; AVO is doing background check, and if they are doubtful, they will ask you for interview. This is about the third time AVO has called people (the other two were sponsors) on this forum to ask some background questions. NO one can tell you when you will get PPR, but I believe it will be sooner than later. All the best!

Good news i just got a request for my passport.....November 18th applicant. ii cant stop screaming with joy. i pray i will get to spend my anniversary with my husband which is next month

You wouldn't know until AVO requests for an interview. Typically GCMS notes will indicate concerns about an application and recommend that the reviewing officer call the applicant for an interview. There is no crystal ball to look into regarding the sponsorship process to be honest. I think with the new CIC account, if they require interview, they will update that on the status. My advise to you again is to relax and let your application take its course.

Great to have an Accra thread! I have been in process since Nov. 2009. Did my interview Dec. 2010. They asked for a re-medical a week ago (actually i already did it before my interview) hope they can sort it out and send me PPR soon. I keep going through my mail box a thousand time daily!

I hope yours is as quick as richie's
