Congratulations Vivichi ! I am very happy for you. I have resolved that I will not be spending Christmas with my hubby, but I'm at least happy to have been able to write a very heart felt letter to Mr Trudeau 'S office and the minister of immigration for Canada. To investigate the AVO Accra because something just is going on there.
I continue to pray for all to reunite with their loved ones...stay blessed!

@Destinyba, I'm glad you wrote a personal letter to Mr. Trudeau and Mr. McCallum........ your move make sense. Instead of venting on this thread, we should take our concerns to Ottawa, to the authority that can effect changes. For sure AVO should be investigated. I will also write office of The Prime Minister and The Minister of Immigration. Thanks

The wait is definitely a killer. Not agreeable to the human body in any shape or form. I am sure things will gradually start to take shape with AVO when immigration officers receive numerous letters from individuals. Certainly a good idea! With AVO we are left in the dark. No updates whatsoever.

I really don't know what is happening to avo in Accra...are they on vacation or what... At least they should update us with something because its not easy staying away from your husband or wife... All we can do is to keep on praying... Since naponga received her ppr request no one in here have received their ppr request... The waiting is absolutely draining and painful...

Olorvi...is ur relationship not genuine? If it is then why are u worried about the truth? U have to provide chats and that is what u have done....they will have to request more proof if they aren't convince of ur case the messages u provided is enough to show a continuation of relationship even after marriage whatsoever

Yes my relationship is very genuine I am only afraid that even when they see everything we have provided to them that they still will refuse to see it. I also had some difficulty getting all the messages from ym as it would not allow me to go back all the way to 2012 it stopped processing the old messages and froze the page each time I tried on Aug 2013 so all I could do was provide an explanation. I was able to get some emails from 2012 and we also provided letters from my husbands friends and family as they saw us together during my stay in Ghana. I just pray that they will believe what I have provided to them

Hi Guys,

I hope we are all hanging in there, its not easy. I have had a depressive mood in the last couple of days, having you guys to chat with kinda helps, makes me know that I am not unique in all this visa thing. Its annoying.
I met with my MP on Tuesday, he was recently elected, he was shocked at the length of time it takes to process family sponsorships and promised me he would be looking into my case, but nothing can be done until second week in January as he is just setting up his office in Ottawa *sigh*. I have given my notice at work. If we dont hear from AVO by January 15, I dey go Naija to go be with my family, Canada no be Heaven abeg, its not the end all be all as they make it to sound jare.

Sorry for my rants, kinda helps me deal with this depressive episode

Cadet I feel your depression, trust me I have been depressed and stressed for the past three weeks knowing that I cant celebrate the Christmas and the new year with my husband in Canada makes me sick to my stomach....now all I want is to hear a good news by next week in Jesus might name so I can be happy to celebrate the Christmas with the news....we will all get there....and we will reunite with our love ones..

AVO applicants.

I have read lots about the frustrating wait we all are going thru and how unbearable it is or becoming.
But i will like to view this whole thing from a different perspective.

1- if we all are still within the time line provided for AVO then i don't think its fair to accuse AVO of any lag. I am not disregarding the possibility of them taking things for granted, but i am sure timelines were concluded at for this kind of reasons. Comparing whats going on with other VOs of different timeline is not a good way to judge -In my opinion.

2. We can all rant about how frustrating the wait is till eternity come, without making any effort to reach out to an appropriate authority, nothing is gonna change. if we all collectively think, for sure, that there is a problem with AVO, then we can find out who or which office to direct this concern, and we send out emails. then we can be assured of a possible change.

3. i have heard on multiple occasions that when VOs are not asking you for anything or making any request, there is a greater possibility that there isn't anything to worry about - usually its a good thing. It may not be the same for every one, and i am sure we would prefer VOs to bother us just for us to be sure they are working on our files. Just saying, not bothering us doesn't mean they are not working on our files. VOs are organized, functional offices and i choose to disagree that there would be files that are left behind unattended to.

Finally, raising expectations and getting disappointed is no VOs fault.


Just my thoughts.

Thank you Benestel. Tolexemi when you have to wait 9 + months for a response then you will see the need in trying to understand the process while others have received theirs and applied the same time. It's very political and that is why as a hard working born Canadian trying to sponsor my husband. I feel the need to talk to our political figures to expedite the process especially when hundreds of Syrians are coming into the country ....
