How much time it takes for visa?

i have applied at 31/10/2011.

from a'bad.
It took 5 working days for me. I applied on 24th Oct, my file reached the embassy on 25th and my VISA was approved on 1st and I received it on 3rd Nov.

PS. If everything is satisfactory according to the SPP checklist and VISA officer, your VISA is on its way. All the best.

Hi,

The ONLY difference between SPP and Generic category is;

Under SPP, you do NOT need any “Form 16 for salaried employees or income tax return document”. You need it under Generic category.

And what consultant say is simply a gossip. They are good in procuring one LOA from a designated school and that’s all they can do for you (apart from charging hefty commission from you).

SPP is applicable for few designated ACCC (Association of Canadian Community Colleges) schools only.

As November progresses application rush increases at CHC so it will take a bit more time but don't be worried.

Hi Enfield,

Thanks partly to this forum's guidance I am now a landed immigrant (trying to wind up from my current job in Dubai). My younger bro is in Hyd India and now keen to move to Canada on his way to PR. Hence, I have been following the Intl Student forum very closely which has provided good insight. Congratulations to you and well humbly a well done for all the great work you and some of the other senior posters have been doing here - surely helping loads of people like me.

He has secured his B Com, from Osmania University (full time studies). His class XII was from CBSE, Delhi Board and X was from SSC (Andhra Board).

I wonder if it is alright to send you a PM with bit more details and when you get a chance if you could please provide some guidance - that will be fantastic.

My worry includes visa officer's stance considering the applicants brother and family are PRs (hence roots back home etc). Leaves us with only Mom back in India - who I intend to unite in Toronto, with us asap anyway. Low IELTS score (re-test result awaited) and degree marks do not make it better anyway.

We are looking at 2 year course - hoping it would provide 3 year PGWP and supposing that the course needs to be PG diploma (Business / Accounting) - cos any post secondary diploma would be highly unconvincing for visa purposes. Not sure what would a Bachelor's degree application weigh.

Province is completely open as well - just want to see him with us in Canada - progressing well on his studies and settling down in life.

If you suggest I can also start a new thread for a wider opinion base - but having seen your balanced views I feel quite comfortable.

Regards and thank you for constantly being of support to numerous posters.

Cheers
