Hi,
I am a Canadian PR holder and will be moving to Toronto soon.
Once I am there, I wish to start the PR sponsorship process of my minor daughter who is six years old.
She will remain in India with my parents while i get her PR ready in Canada.
My question is, should i take my daughter's passport with me to Canada or leave it here with my parents?
I am not sure where I will be asked to send her passport for stamping. Whether it will be to Canadian consulate in New Delhi or to IRCC office in Canada?? Can someone please help me with this question?
Thanks a lot

You can get a visit visa for her while she stays with you in Canada. It may take about 10-11 months to get the PR, so if I were you I would not bring the passport just yet. The passport is sent to Ottawa for processing.

Got it. Thank you so much :)

You should NOT take the passport with you. When the time comes for the passport submission, it will be at a visa office at the country of her residence. In your daughter's case, it will be the New Delhi Visa Offce (NDVO).

It generally takes 10 months for whole process to complete once you submit the application, therefore, in my personal opinion, no need to take her passport with her. If she is in India, her passport will be stamped by NDVO (New Delhi), if she is not in canada during the process. Or
You can apply for TRV (Temporary visit visa) so that she can join you as well while her application in process - I did for my son
Hope it helps.

Today we got a Decision made in ecas for SA, although no email yet on what the decision is. However, at the same time PA received a medical request. Are we safe to assume SA decision is an approval?

Also, my kid is in Canada with me. We have not received anything about the file being transfered to a visa office abroad. Can we assume, given the medical request, that the file is being processed in Mississauga?

This is too early in the process. It may take 7-8 months for application to get to next stage. My SA application was approved in September 2017, and in July 2018 I received email that file will continue to be processed in Mississauga (AOR2)

Oh I see. I was under the impression that after SA approval the file gets transferred. I guess we’ll just sit tight and wait. Thanks! :)

I have a question, Can a dependent child (applied before 2014) work and earn on his own along with studies before completion of process/landing. I have seen definitions of dependent on cic website but it silent for some situations. He is single and a full time student till now

Please answer, thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I am sponsoring my 2 dependent children, a 17 year old and 8 year old.
I received email from immigration asking for additional medical information for my 8 year old.
Anyone in similar situation? I am just wondering, because my son is in a healthy condition, in all aspect.
I'm guessing maybe it's just immunization?
I already emailed the hospital (no reply yet), If I have to schedule my son for another medical.
Thanks...

Ask the doctor who did the medical and submitted it to IRCC to find out why you received this query. He/She may be able to answer.

I did send an email, because they will not entertain phone calls, waiting for their reply.
I am just curious if anyone here has similar case as mine.. thanks.

My friend (PR Canada) applied for dependent children PR in July 2017. The children are American citizens. Here is the timeline
1. Application sent - July 27, 2017
2. AOR - Sep 5, 2017
3. SA approval - Sep 5, 2017
4. Medical requested - Sep 11, 2017
5. Medical done - Sept 13, 2017
6. June 2018 - got Letter that Mississauga will continue to process the application.

Today my friend received an email that their file is being transferred to Los Angeles Visa office. Is it because they are American citizens?

Is it normal or is there something to be concerned about?

There any dependent child march 2018 applicant here? Any updates or timelines please ..thanks
