For Heaven's sake. -45 is a great deal colder than -20 which is rare in Toronto.
My point was not that you shouldn't go to Saskatoon, merely that you should do your homework.
Consider this:
Saskatoon has winters that can only be described as "brutal."
Toronto is in what is called "the banana belt" and has comparatively mild winters (tempered by Lake Ontario) with the lowest "average" daytime temperature of -3.
Looking at temperatures right now, Toronto is at +4C and Saskatoon minus 10.
Saskatoon is the violent crime capital of Canada yet it has a small population 200,000+
Saskatoon has a lot of problems with aboriginal people (Metis) who are often homeless and drunk.
All cities have finance jobs, obviously, but Toronto's downtown is a sea of skyscrapers that are banks, insurance companies, communications companies and other major head offices.
Underneath the downtown core of Toronto is approx 30 KM of climate controlled underground city with malls, shops, restaurants, food courts, cinemas etc.., all with access to the buildings above. A subway commuter need not go outside after leaving home.
The main industries in Saskatoon are Potash, oil, Agriculture and biotech. I guess they need accountants.
Before you advise people where to live, at least know the fact, visit Wikipaedia or other sites to see what the statistics are. Everyone needs to do their homework. These are life changing decisions.
