Where did you get these Precise figures from and are these related to all the Vo clubbed togather

From the Research and Statistics : quarterly Adm Data Release;

Section :CIC Permanent Resident Applicants Awaiting a Decision : Key findings:

there has been a consistent & Seady rise in the no. of files in Backlog. (execption year 2009)This can realy raise concerns on the Ruling Party's ability and commitment to reducing backlogs. I hope 2011 figures should be lower due to the MI 2 in effect.

Again Sep 2010 figures of 144,883 files recieved (as most of us are in this category) doesnt reveal the exact figures (as explained in ***Figure does not include all applications received as of September 30, 2010) so its hard to estimate the backlog, ofcourse must be higher than fig stated.

Cases awaiting deciion:

2008: 111,250 (what to say now, can ony empathize these poor chaps)
2009 : 128,769 (again a rise in backlog)
2010: 3,17,933 (a huge rise)
So put together CIC has around roughly 557,952 files as pending decision in MI 1 category.

right guys, have ordered CAIPS and should be recieving by July first week, if its blank shall definitely withdraw.........

One of my professional friend applied for Australia PR ,as Finance Manager was also listed there,and he had his family already settled and just last week he recieved a confirmation for PR, lucky him and on the other hand am me, so unlucky.......still not sure of whats gonna happen....

any country one goes to has to undertake a compatibility study program-me
The Norms of practice are different in canada and in our home country

You must also Know the The Registered Nurse and Doctor Union is one of the Most powerful unions in canada and it is not easy to Fire an incompatible doc once hired

Hence extra caution is taken by the Hiring body .

If one takes up an appropriate course to become apt for that country he will be hired before he gets is clearance certificate

Driving a cab is by choice and not by compulsion

MI-2 & MI-3 all are based on present labor market requirement.

There were lots of applicants who got the visa and been to Canada and returned back as they couldn't find the right job. It might be shocking to know that there were a few Indian doctors who were driving cabs in Toronto as they couldn't get the job (was on the local news papers and they were doing additional courses in the mean-time).

They are introducing MI-3, so that there shouldn't be more disappointed immigrants.

Even Pre Feb 2008, MI-1 application process are going on at the moment and will be processed in due course.

MI-3 will get priority as mentioned earlier. But we are not on hold.

I have to respectfully disagree with you somewhat about doctors. They have to complete a full residency program to be licensed and only a few are admitted to the programs each year. Things are changing but it is kind of considered a national disgrace that we encourage these people to come and they have so much trouble finding work. None of the them choose to drive taxis. I'm not sure you are correct about the "unions" either but the governing bodies of the professions do have a lot of power. One way Canada is thinking of making it easier for doctors to practice their profession is to get them to agree to work in remote locations that don't have doctors. I am against this as I think it's discriminatory. Doctors are one of the best examples of our non recognition of foreign diplomas. The other hurdle for newcomers is a lack of "Canadian experience."

We actually have an acute doctor shortage, particularly outside the major cities. Many people can't find a family doctor, so the fact we have trained doctors driving cabs is very disturbing but quite true. The system has to change.

Dear All,

Just wanted to share my younger bro experience who is currently in Toronto, Canada. He landed there last week, friday and so far he has come across couple of people who all told him to stay there and not go back (he's on B1/B2 visa, for business trainings). He told me that although it's quite difficult to reach there from outside Canada. However, if u r already into Canada (by any means), than it's not too difficult to settle there. He can't stay there because he's just 23 years and a little scared of the things. But yes, he said Canada is a place where Indians are most respected. Now, he's also trying ways to live there for long....Lets see, aage kya hota hai....

If u guys have anyone known there (consultant or frnd) who can guide him, than pls let me know...
As far as my case is concerned, i got 2nd AOR on 11/02/2011 and my status is still RBVO. Could anyone pls suggest when will this change to in-process.

Canada has a terrible problem with illegal immigrants and I think your relative may have been given bad advice. He will not be eligible for healthcare and won't have a social insurance number so it will be hard to find legitimate employment. If he is deported, then his chances of getting back will be slim. If he likes it here and I'm glad that he does, I would recommend going through the proper channels, hard as they are. I wish I could offer something more positive. I can't imagine living in a country where I was not legally entitled to be and always subject to discovery. Maybe after a few years there is a kind of amnesty, I'm not sure, but personally I would not risk it.
