Dear Msaeed,

Wouldn't this create problem if she will get it renewed the passport from Pakistan?? Because then the old passport will be cancelled. And it is clearly mentioned in the PPR that the visa are valid only up to the expiry of the passport or the medicals (Visa Expiry Date) which ever comes earlier for any family memeber. So in my opinion she shouldn't go for renewal if the visa's r already pasted.

Thanks,

You must need a valid passport to travel from Canada to Pakistan.
And for timing you have to wait someone else to reply who had done it in recent days...

Dear SMSH

I think you work in Dubai so did you got both PPR1 AND THEN PPR2 or you got directly passport request. THis question is also to all who are not in Pakistan and working abroad and how you guys have then proceeded with it. Thanks

Dear Suleman,

In UAE we received only the PPR and dispatched our passports directly to the London Visa Office. PPR1 & PPR2 procedure is applicable only if you are in Pakistan..

I have not seen any visa / COPR since December 2013.
As far as my knowledge serves that Valid Visas are not expired / cancelled due to expiry / re-issuance / renewal f passport.

Any how , our forum mate must get clarification from Visa Office

It takes time and effort to get renewal of Passport from Canada

Stay Blessed

2.How much time is taken in CANaDA to get the Pakistani passport renewed and what will be the cost? - It costs more in terms of time and efforts in getting renewal from Canada - It depends how far is your relevant Pakistani high commission from your place , and all other allied factors that is being faced by a Pakistani by his fellow Pakistani abroad.

Dear Msaeed,

Below are the extracts from the PPR:

What you should know
 Your visas will expire one year after the date of your medical examinations. However, if your passport or any of your family members' passports are due to expire before this date, all visas will expire on the date that the first passport expires. You must enter Canada on or before the expiry date on your visas.
 The validity of a permanent resident visa cannot be extended, nor can a replacement visa be issued with a new expiry date. If you do not use your visa(s) before the expiry date, yet still wish to immigrate to Canada, you will have to begin the application process again, and pay new fees. The new application would be assessed according to the immigration legislation in force at the time of submission.

Hello Vigilant,

if i am not wrong for international travelling one must need Passport with at-least 6 months validity. Secondly you can apply for new passport from Pakistan Foreign Ministry Office at Toronto.

Saeed,

It's not like that. Now a days 5 years valid passports are issued.... 10 years passports r not issued now... Secondly one can request for new passport from Pakistan foreign ministry office... So no need to worry... Only 1 year validity of passport is enough... And vigilant is exactly saying that is communicated by CIC in PPR1 letter...

Stay blessed...
