Dear All,,

I would like inform you all for the following incident happened for a PR holder and need your input on this.

one of my friend's cousin got PR card (with family) 1 year back. and the principal applicant stayed over in Canada and family came back along with PR card to Lebanon.

last month the family tried to move back to Canada and on airport immigration, they returned them back to Lebanon. and the cause they said that, as the family stayed more than 6 month continuous outside of Canada from their first landing , they cannot re-enter.

Seniors, needed your valuable input on this.

I am highly doubtful about the reason provided for denial to entry in canada as they lived outside for just six months.
my aunt and uncle lived there since years and they come oftenly to Pakistan also i know about people who lived outside for long and NO problem.

Staying outside could cause problem in just cases i.e
1. when the person will be claiming the citizenship. He/ She should had lived in canada for atleast Three Years out of five years of PR Card Time
2. if lived less than three but more than two years and provide valid reason for staying outside like business then their PR card is renewed. But it is risky.
3. if less than two year stay out of five yrs than it is the discretion of the officer.


denial entry to canada could be due to number of reason
like Expired PR Card. (CANNOT Enter Canada)
Or anything else

its good that sazzadkw discuss the issue people come to know of the PR Status
but when bad things happen to someone, people dont always tell the real story, could be any other reason

my friends always research before believing anything

they must have done something wrong or may be forgot the PR cards at their country....
6 months reason is not justifiable at all....
my 1 friend got PR cards and then worked in UAE for more than 2 years and then went to Canada without any problem

I am pleased to inform all of you that yesterday on 7th of January 2014 I had receive the PHEP / PPR1 request by email, means within seven days of receiving the required documents and Medical. They have requested to send the PHEP form filled and the current passports photocopy for each applicant.

Hopefully I will be sending all these by today insha Allah.
