Dear Friends,
I have got my CAIPS notes. Summary is written below.

1.Along with the updated documents I sent the new passport copies. They haven't changed the old PPT numbers. Instead of new passport numbers ,old PPT #s are being shown.
2. On each page of previous CAIPS notes in the right top corner there was written S.19 (1). Now, it's not written anywhere in new CAIPS notes.
3. At the right bottom corner of first page of previous notes a number starting from "A013XXXX" was written. But, now, a new number with new format is written as" A 2013-07XXX-XXXXX1" is written. This is written on each page and last digit increases with increasing page.
I do not know exactly, but, I could just guess that the middle number starting from'' 7 thousand'' shows applicant number among total number. I may be wrong.
3. On the 2nd page of previous CAIPS notes in the right top corner there was written S.15 (1). Now it's written only on second page in front of list of required action like PCC, Medicals and Proof of funds with the sequence of 1,3 and 4. While the serial # 2." CHECKS" ,which was shown in previous CAIPS notes , is not being shown in current notes. In previous CAIPS notes it was written that "FILE REQUIRES CHECKS". Now it's not written in new CAIPS notes.
4. Updated documents were received by REO and SAJ. I mistakenly sent the one wrong document. Just after 4 days I sent them the correct one.
5. FOSS check OK. PSDEC 1. SELECEC 4.FIN DEC 0. MEDDEC 0.BDEC 0. OREQ 0.
All entries are same as per previous notes.
6. Previous BFD was mid of May,13/BZZ. Current BFD is" mid/08/13/BZ2" .
Dear friends, I have tried to collect and share all the differences of the two CAIPS files so that respectable experts of this forum could conclude anything for all of us. Please give your expert opinion.
regards,
HIZ

DEAR FRIENDS,

Fo thoz who still are not aware of it:)

CAIPS
•CAIPS is an abbreviation for 'Computer assisted Immigration Processing System'.
•It is a Computer System used by all Canadian Visa Offices/Consulates to process VISA applications.
•It is a computerized record of all visa applications made by an applicant till date.
•It contains various processing stages of your visa application and comments by various visa officers.
•It also contains the transcripts of all your Canadian visa interviews in the past outside Canada.
•It is being superceded by GCMS.

FOSS
•FOSS is an abbreviation for 'Field Operations Support System'.
•FOSS is the computer system historically used by CIC offices within Canada and CBSA officers at all Canadian Port of Entries like Airports, Land Borders or Sea-Ports.
•It is used to track all immigration-related information of an applicant.
•It also contains all your past interviews or even casual conversation with CBSA officer/s at Canadian Port of Entries.
•It is being superceded by GCMS.

GCMS
•GCMS is an abbreviation for 'Global Case Management System'.
•It is a newer version of CAIPS and FOSS that CIC are rolling out across their offices.
•It is a unique computerized immigration file system without a need of two different file systems for within Canada (FOSS) and Outside Canada (CAIPS).
•Each Visa Applicant is allotted a unique Client ID which never changes irrespective of how many times or types of Canadian Visa one applies.
•With GCMS and a Unique Client ID, immigration information, historic or current is available to CIC and CBSA anywhere in the world.

Hi all,
A week is left over to complete one year for applicant who got udr in October 12 but none has received medical from LVO. All applicants are getting response 'background check pending'. This is very frustrating and strange strategy of LVO and no one exactly know, will there any update after October 2013 or again a wait letter.

Because they sent you the UDR before completing the background checks

Following is written about medicals:
1. updated PC x 2 Form Pakistan.
3.Med X 5
4.Updated proof of funds.

I do not understand why 2 related related to checks is missing in above Que. No body in this forum has commented on this point.

Salam to all.

By the grace of Almighty Allah, i have just received PPR1, exactly after one month of medical. i have a question to ask and will be obliged if answered.

our passports are left with 9 months of validity (with Expiry date of 20th June 2014). some of my family members are planning to depart to Canada in March 2014. plz note that, in march their passports will be left with only 3 months validity. My question is that, will it be ok for them to travel on the passport that have less than 6 months validity R do we need to go for passport renewal?

Best Regards

Nasir Khan

6 month month validity is required to stamp the visa and not for the traveling therefore no issue of Passport expiry. but if you are thinking that in future you have to come back in home country and at that time problem and if passport can be issued before the submission date to cic then you can go for it.

@HIZ
