Is there any difference if we send docs today or just 10 days before the deadline. I think there's no becoz the way VO works.

After sending the update doc request to us, they must have updated our BFDT to T+60 and on routine basis they generate reports on BFD and they will only check our docs on or after T+60 days.

I think this is an inherent system delay which we can't avoid :(

I sent my updated documents to LVO just now through DHL. it should reach there in 1 or 2 days.

Ottawa, March 2, 2013 — The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, issued the following statement to commemorate the second anniversary of the death of Pakistan's Minister for Minorities' Affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti.

“Shahbaz Bhatti was a brave and indefatigable leader in the promotion of religious freedom and the protection of minority rights. As the first and only Christian minister in the Pakistani government, he was acutely aware of the discrimination faced by members of religious and ethnic minority groups from all walks of life. As the Minister for Minorities' Affairs, he worked tirelessly on their behalf.

“His courageous work in protecting religious minorities included a principled condemnation of Pakistan's blasphemy laws, which are often used to discriminate against religious minorities. Although he knew his prominent public actions and opinions endangered him, he carried on without fear.

I had the honour of knowing and befriending Shahbaz Bhatti, and of hosting him in Canada mere weeks before his shocking murder two years ago today. His death was a tragic loss to Pakistan, and to all those around the world who share his commitment to promoting religious freedom and protecting minority rights.

“Last year, in recognition of the importance of his life's work, our Government posthumously awarded Shahbaz Bhatti with the John Diefenbaker Defender of Human Rights and Freedom Award.

“As Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, I extend my sincere condolences to Shahbaz Bhatti's family and friends, and to all the people of Pakistan. On this solemn anniversary, I also wish to reiterate Canada's strong support for the values he upheld. Freedom of religion and belief is a fundamental principle of our own democracy, and of all democracies.”
Misguided Minister Kenny, Bhatti Sb was not the first christian Minister and secondly he was not killed because of his religion but matter is still in court of Justice to be decided, Secondly there is no ethnic discrimination in Pakistan for minorities. Matter is debatable. Minister took one sided view, The terrorist activists targeted 99.9% Muslim religious factions and Security Forces and killed more then 45000 innocent citizens and Muslim by religion but different factions.
Minister Keney needs to condole with whole Pakistani nation on these killings

As per my analysis of excel sheet of SMSH, 95% of applicants who sent their initial application in or before march 2010 have got MR with exception of Zeeshanis. 85% of applicants who applied after march got 18 months letter with exception of few lucky one's. There are still few applicants who applied in Feb/March 2010 still waiting for their fate to be decided including my brother who sent his application in March 2010. I have strong feelings that he'll MR too as his CAIPS shows to issue MR and request PCC with MR. Fingers crossed for everyone and I do hope that 18 months window turns out to be to calm everyone down so that CIC can finalise cases as quickly as possible and still give pleasant surprises to those waiting...

Ma'am,

What I have seen is Female principal applicants are subject to less BG checks as compared to male applicants. Hina jamal and staralihaider's spouse (principal applicant) got through in no time.

Excellent! I like your home work. I've the same experience.

One of the forum member was keep in touch with me untill his visa stamp. I honestly try to drive him best possible ways whatever he caught in any critical situation. But unfortunately he didn't even give me a single call to say goodbye before fly. When I called him on his local number, the call was attended by his brother, and I found that he has been fly since 1 week before. On my insist his brother gave me his Canadian number.

When I called him :) he said I'm buzy and will call you later. And since that day, No call! :)

These days, most people work on this strategy:

"Jub Apna kaam ho poora, to bhaar mein jaye Shakoora" :)

Koi nahi dost..baray barey shehroon mein choti choti batein hotee rehtee hein...its all ok :)

P.s: was good meeting up with u today. Laterz.

Hi Mian-g
My BFD was on 12.2.2013 and but no update despite completion of background check. My next bfd is also 12.4.2013 but dont know its changed or not. This is good news that your bfd is now fixed 12.3.2013 instead of 12.4.2013, so INSHALLAH will hear good news on 12.3.2013.
Regards

Hopefully same in my case... does it effects BG check if the principal applicant has travel history of 5 to 6 countries??

Yes and No.

Cocknbull is an example who traveled to a number of countries but was through in a month after medicals. Luck matters !
