minimum wage is 11 an hour on Ontario. so if the wage is below that than employer will be doing it under the table with cash wages since they cant direct debit or issue wage check of anything below minimum wage. furthermore all big store chains do not give anything below min wage

after 1 1/2 months finally something has come up for me. its a temp job at a retail chain paying 11.50 an hour...hopefully with this Canadian experience under the belt the rest will come easy without employment gaps.

Sasi, it is very hard to get short term accomodation for 2 weeks. If you are only coming for 2 weeks than best option would be to book a cheap hotel.

I think following two clauses of the new citizenship law answer your questions

• New residency requirements of 4 years (1,460 days) out of 6 years for citizenship eligibility
  
• Permanent Residents must be physically present in Canada for 183 days (minimum) per year in 4 out of 6 years

So does it means that gor 2 years straight after landing I can stsy outside of canada and tgen in remaining4 years 183 days in wach year?
