Thoughts?

Hello

I have completed filling in my application for spousal sponsor (inland) with the help of my immigration consultant and collected all required documents. I am planning to send the application as early as Monday of next week but am confused if I should wait until December 15th for the new forms?

Would the new timeline be only for the new forms or for both the old and the new? My immigration consultant believes that the timelines should apply for any of the two types of applications and is encouraging me to send my application out on Monday. Any thoughts? Should I wait until the 15th, any perceived benefit in doing so?

Thanks

Based on my understanding, application forms package should match with the day it gets received at the Mississauga location. If you send it on Monday, it would needs be be 'officially received' before 15th. As we all know, delays are possible during parcel time.

These just thoughts based on my understanding.

Impact of sending on Monday: You don't have to fill out the revised forms again (get signatures again) and go through the checklist (again). However, application may be sent back to you if CIC gets it past 15th. Please note that it may take CIC some time to go through your application and figure out what is missing / changed. In some cases, they don't send the whole thing back, but ask for specific forms.

Impact of sending on 15th: You will need to revise the forms (may get new signatures). However, you will have a peace of mind on ' are they going to return or not'

People are putting way too much faith in this "new system". As with any new process, there will be growing pains, issues and confusion. The 15th of December is not some magic day where suddenly everything is processed faster.

BTW arent they still accepting the old forms til the end of January?

I was thinking the same that they are accepting applications from the old forms until the end of January. My only guess was that with new forms could come a new procedure on how to shorten lead time on each step of the approval process. Whether the old forms would be aligned to this procedure or not is what I do not know.

Sponsorship approval Times probably won't change. Many countries had 12 months processing times already European countries and some other countries had only a 7-9 month processing time.

Inland and at risk country applications took forever. They probably will just hire more people to process inland applications and at risk country applications.

I see many applications getting sent back or turned away from minor things. It takes 12 months for complete applications all immigration has to do is find an "error" and then times don't change.

Send your app. It doesn't matter which version you use.

This is wrong. IRCC will accept the older forms until the end of January.
