I think I'm about to go crazy. D:
I'm an Inland Applicant and received AOR on Feb 20, 2017. I have been stuck with security check since August in 2017. But the thing is I'm from a low risk country, without much travel history, graduated from UBC, have a regular office job, AND single.
And the punchline is: I applied Open Bridge Work Permit twice and they BOTH got rejected. The first officer didn't offer any specific reason. The second refusal reads that my work permit had expired by the time that I submitted my second application (obviously).
According to the GMC notes, my security check changed from IP2 to Information Sharing in December.
Can someone please offer some information how falling out of status is going to affect a pending permanent residence application?

From what I know, the current work permit has to be valid in order to be eligible for the bridging work permit. If the previous work permit, for example a Post Graduate Work Permit has expired before you apply to a a Bridging Work Permit, you won't be able to get a Bridging Work Permit. In this case, you will have to wait until you get your PPR and PR landing to work.

does anyone know if its normal for additional document status to go from "we dont need any additional docs" to "Not applicable" ?

Sorry for your experience. My security check started in August too and my BOWP was approved after 5 months. Have you tried to have them reconsider the BOWP if you believe it should be approved?

This has chnaged for most applicants post the 27th Feb system update. Chnaged for me too, I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Did you ever try to contact you MP's office?

Honestly, the office can't push your application to go fast. BUT, they can make a call on behalf of you and find out details on why your applications is getting delayed. I know this won't solve your problem but at least you will have a piece of mind and for your sanity, I highly recommend it.

If you are in Canada I would suggest you to talk with local Member of Parliament. They are sometimes very helpful in these kind of situations.

hello everyone.. it has been 14 months 10 days since my AOR. i am getting same annoying reply to my emails from cic when i enquire about the status of my application. i was wondering if emailing minister's office will be helpful or not. if anyone of you have contacted the immigration minister's office can you please tell if it was helpful in any way or not?

Hello there! I've already contacted Prime minister office and immigration minister office. They were both politically correct in their e-mail reply. No detailed information whatsoever. It's been more than 20 months now and its all dark for me. Hope this helps.

Yes I did contact both the ministers back in Nov month, though I got general reply, but you never know it might push a bit. Thank you and all the best!

I am thinking to email the immigration minister only. His email id is Minister@cic.gc.ca right?
Any specific information that i should write?

It has been 9 months since AOR. I wrote an email to CPC ottawa asking for medical extension because it will expire in 3 months and it cannot be determined when the application will be finalized due to security screening. I got the following in reply:

"Good day,

Thank you for your email.

Please note that a medical request will follow once the ongoing review has been completed.

Regards,

CY19580
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada | Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada
Government of Canada | Gouvernement du Canada"

Does it mean that I am near to completion ?
