Hello Friends,

Few days ago I sent an email to Ottawa to know the status of my application ..... And today I got the below reply........

Anyone know what does this mean ?????????????

This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa. The eligibility and admissibility review (security, criminality and/or medical) is currently in process: your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum.

It means you have been placed to additional checks. It may be security screening. The only way to know it now is to order GCMS Notes.

generic reply. Everyone gets the same reply. Nothing special here. Get GCMS where you might get more information.

Guys my file is stuck in security screening.
Here are some data about my case:
AOR 12 October 2016
BG2 started on 24 January 2017
CSIS letter says: on 24 January they started screening, on 24 April they finished it and sent report to CBSA and IRCC.
People say in the forum that security screening takes 9 to 18 months.
My question on you:
How much longer do you guys think I have to wait for PPR (max and min processing)?
Can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance.

The time of SS varies a lot, some are waiting since last June, others started SS on Dec and finished already.

Follow what perfectSkilledMigrant did.... Send out a very tense mail via CSE. It might be the same officer.

I raised a CSE to my Visa office in Vienna more than a month ago, and still no reply. I tried calling them, but they don't accept calls from applicants - only emails. I don't know if I should wait or send another CSE. I already have 2 sets of GCMS, last is from 2 months ago, I don't really know if there is any point in me getting another set. Everything seems to be in a complete freeze.

By the way, we have a similar BGIP, and also a few other people have the similar date, 25-28 april. Is it a coincidence or maybe they send our files in batches..?
My VO is still Ottawa, unless otherwise stated under my ordered GCMS notes. I am waiting for my GCMS to arrive in this or next week. Also I have sent CSE + email to Ottawa office yesterday. Lets see, if I receive a reply I will let you know. Hang in there .. but really I am fed up with such treatment.

I can understand dear.....But the thing is, My Security is still not started and eligibility is Recommended Pass......Why they are taking so long to pass the eligibility ?? 6 Months already finished yesterday......
Only Visa officers know why they taking so long to just initiate the process.

Congratulations, well deserved!
Would you mind sharing how did you word your assertive e-mails to VO? It can be difficult to choose the right words, as many people would be afraid of rejection. It would be useful to know what to say that hits the target and yet doesn't cross the line.

They have no right to reject you because of any email...well maybe if it was full of cussing/swearing and threats lol ....

As for being assertive, I think it was mainly about me reminding them of how much they are delaying me on purpose (for months) and stating that I deserve priority and any workload on their officers should not come at my expense and I need a reply asap or else I will be escalating my case (as in emailing the minister's office which i had done before and their reply was that they checked my case and with my visa office and I was on security checking which they cannot impact nor compromise on but this time the minister office would have seen that there was no need for any delay like this)

Don't be rude nor disrespectful, we are better than that and them (IRCC call agents are the rudest people I have dealt with) ....just be assertive while insisting on your right for transparent answers (as long as it is not security checking) ..and remind them of their laziness and incompetence indirectly and that you are human not a pile of papers :)

very well put, sorry to hear about your troubles... would love to see your mail one day if possible ha ha :)

It's been 6 months and 15 days, still no visible decision made on my application. I sent a webform and was informed that security checks are still taking place thus they cannot do anything to speed up this process. My friend has the same case like mine basically carbon copy, ctrl c, ctrl v kind of thing but she got her decision on the 5th month. If they they were able to do that to her what's taking them so long this time?

If they are following strict timeline they should have accomplished everything within or exactly 6 mos. I would understand a few days delay but half month is totally unacceptable. The implication is causing anxiety. Totally unnecessary.

Its been 7 months for me. I also raised CSE but totally no reply. I feel like they just want to play with me.

Hi All .. can I check with people who were stuck for more than 8 to 9 months and after getting CoPR, how many days or months their entry deadline was extended from last medical expiry date? Need to plan the future steps accordingly and as per deadline. I know usually the validity entry date is 1 year from medical done date.
