Are you from a visa exempt country? If yes, you only need to send copies of passport not the original document itself. Please see below:

Thanks AmirHNK. Unfortunately, I am not from a visa exempt country, that's what making me doubt it's PPR :)

Found this on my CIC, I don't know if it's a good thing.

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for your interest in Canada.
We have begun processing your application for permanent residence, and in order to make a decision we require the following information/documents:

> Passport/Travel Document: Please provide a copy of a passport valid for 6 months or more from the date of this letter. Please do not send your original passport at this stage

Anyone received a similar email ?
it's not a PPR passport request email.
They are asking you to renew your passport or your dependances passport is about to expire soon.
Renew your passport and send the copies to your processing centre mentioned on the letter.

After 11 months finally received my PPR :o :o :o

Actually, i renewed the passport a month back, so i sent them a photocopy yesterday. Question is what happens next ?

I don't like what they wrote "We have begun processing your application for permanent residence". After nearly a year, they just begun processing the application :)

Dear messiry, what u got is a request for passport. i.e PPR

Thank you Blacky, I surely hope so, as it is confusing me a bit. so when do they actually ask for actual passport, rather than asking for a copy ?

Thank you everyone. I would not have survived during the waiting time, if I had not discussed with you guys in this forum thread.

Good luck all!!!

Did the message include any instructions about the photos as well? If not, this might not be a PPR.

Unfortunately, it didn't include anything concerning the photos. They just needed me to upload a copy of a valid passport, as i used my old passport a year back to submit the application.

Anyways, something is better than nothing. I hope this movement brings your file closer to a final decision. :)
Good luck!

Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
I am pleased to inform you that I received the PPR last Tuesday. My total wait period (AOR to PPR) is 19 months and 10 days!
I can't believe it till now. I thought I will just never receive the PPR, but it happened.
I wish everyone here a good luck.
