Thanks a lot for this information. I wish I knew about this earlier so I had sent an enquiry sooner. The CIC never told me there is such an option and just told me to wait. I really appreciate this.

GCMS for the BGC will not be of much help for the following reasons:

1. BGC is conducted by external agencies and not CIC. Therefore, CIC has no control over the process.
2. Even when information is given to CIC about an investigation or information received from foreign governments it will be blocked from disclosure by section 13 of the access to information act.

If you believe that everything in your file is clear then you can request notes directly from CSIS. The procedure is available here:

Usually the BGC takes 1-3 months at an average. If your BGC just started, just wait it out. If it has been in progress for a while, i.e. more than 3 months, then you should try and figure out as to what is going on.

More lucky that hundreds of people outside Canada seeking for better life...Just a little bit more ;D I am (usually) very positive person but sometimes is soooo hard keep it up, like today LoL

You are most welcome and all the very best. One certainly loses patience at times - specially when you see people around you getting through the process - some times faster than yourself.

I also know that being in Canada is much positive but at the same time brings uncertainty to future. One more aspect is that you have waited for hopefully majority of the time, and much less is left. Stay put.

And yes, for people outside of Canada - it is a completely different ball game. Some times, getting first job in your corresponding profession and gaining acceptance - turns out harder than the PR process itself. There are too many horror stories of people having to eventually change professions or starting from grass root level and what not. Thankfully you don't have to face all that. Cheers

Hats off to you all, you are indeed real warriors......

This VISA thing is indeed a true test of one's patience!

The good thing though is that, no matter how late it may come, eventually your answer will come! Imagine somebody waiting for 14.5 months guys and eventually getting their VISA.........

In my GCMS notes, under Application Assignment: "Assigned by and Assigned to" is the same code. Do u think it is ok?
In Application Finalize section, visa and counter foil information is available for all and it was created on the 19th Jan. 2016
Under Assessment, Final: Approved.............I don't know why no update since January 19.
